Possible: Inverse trigonometric functions have limited domains. For arcsine and arccosine it is between -1 and 1.

SOURCE: how can i do because my calculator cannot graph

When dealing with trigonometric functions and their inverses one has to make sure the angle unit is chosen accordingly.
I am including a few screen capture to help you do the graph.
First, in Home screen Run the NewProb command to reset the calculator and ready it as a clean slate.
f967d69.jpg

Set the correct angle unit. By default, after the NewProb command the angle unit is reset to Radian. If you want something else change it. See picture. Select 1:radian or 2:Degree.
I will use Radian first.

Press the key sequence that opens the Y= editor. Enter Y1=sin(X)

Remember after a newProb command unit is Radian, Window is standard.
Here is what you get.

Here are the window dimension that gave this picture

Now I am going to change the angle unit to degree and redraw a better framed graph. (I could have done it with the radian unit too.)
As you can see I played with the window dimensions (Xmin=-3*180=-540 and Xmax=3*180=540. The Xscale factor was set to 90 and the range of y-values was reduced to -1.2 to 1.2)

Here is what you get

Before hitting the Graph sequence make sure that the function to be drawn has a check mark to its left (see the 3rd screen capture from the top).

SOURCE: My graphing function doesn't work

The angle unit is not conform to your problem.
If angle unit in your problem is degrees, change angle unit to degrees on calculator.
Then change the Xmin, Xmax values to about -180 and 180

What is wrong with my calculator? invNorm Error:Domain

DOMAIN ERROR:

- You specified an argument to a function or
instruction outside the valid range. This error is
not returned during graphing. The TI-84 Plus
allows for undefined values on a graph.

- You attempted a logarithmic or power
regression with a LX or an exponential or power
regression with a LY.

- You attempted to compute GPrn( or GInt( with
pmt2 < pmt1.

My TI-84 Plus won't let me graph trigonometric functions.

Is it somehow preventing you from graphing, or are you simply not getting the graph you expect?

Most likely you have the angular mode set wrong. You probably want it set to radians. Press MODE, move to the third line, highlight RADIAN, press ENTER, then 2ND [QUIT].

If it's not the angular mode, please reply to this post and give an example or two.

How do you fix a "DOMAIN ERROR" ?

It depends on the function. The domain is the set of values that are permitted as input to the function. For the square root for example you cannot calculate square root of a negative number. If you type in sqrt(-3) you get a domain error.

If you are calculating inverse trigonometric functions such as arc sine and arc cosine the argument of the function must be in the closed interval [-1,1].

Sine graph is straight

If the angle unit is set to degrees and you use the standard window dimensions (Xmin=-10, Xmax=10) then all you will see is a straight line: Between 0 and 10 degrees, the sine is approximately equal to 0 and the cosine is about 1.

To see the features of the trigonometric functions you must do one of the following
  1. Set angle to degree but set window dimensions to span the domain -180 to 180 or larger.
  2. Set windows dimensions to the standard -10, 10 range but set angle degree to radians

Im trying to graph a parametric equation and whenever the equation has an exponent/power in it the calculator says Syn error so i know how to graph x=2 cos T, y=2 sin T and similar equations without a...

To enter powers of trigonometric functions you must enclose the functions in parentheses and then apply the exponent to the whole. For example X1t =(sin T)^3 , Y1t=(cos T)^3 will give you a shape similar to a rhombus with concave sides. The symbol ^syands for the operation of raising to a power. The key is the one with the caret symbol ^ , and it is wedged between the xsqure and EXIT keys (third row of keys).
As regards the cotangent, use the equivalent definition cot(X)=1/tan(X).

How can I graph sine and cosine waves on my TI-84 Plus? I can see the Theta symbol on the "X,T, "Theta",n" button. But whenever I try to graph a function, it doesn't work. Please...

When you graph functions y=f(x), even if f(x) is a trigonometric function, the default independent variable is x. You will have to use the variable theta only when drawing polar functions.
To draw the sine and cosine or any other trigonometric function set the angle unit to radians and window zoom to standard. If your angle unit is degree you must modify the x-window range to, say, multiples of 180 degrees. Other than that there is nothing special to do. The functions are well-behaved and should graph nicely. You will alos get a better view if Ymin is about -1.2 and Ymax is about 1.2

I have a TI-Nspire Graphic Calculator (Not the CAS.) I had a couple of questions about the calculator. First off, how do I limit the domain on a function that I am graphing. For example, I am graphing y=x...

simply divide the function by the domain you wish.

In your example, you wanted to graph y=x for x>=0.
You should graph the function f1=(x)/(x>0)

To find out when y=900, graph the function in f1, and then graph the equation y=900 (which will be a horizontal line) and use the intersect function to find where they cross. The x-coordinate of the intersection is the solution you are seeking.

I'm trying to graph in radians on a casio fx-9750ga plus, but it doesn't show up on my screen. what should i do?

To get results in radians you must configure the angle unit to be degree.
  1. In Run screen press [SHIFT][MENU] to access (SETUP).
  2. Use Down arrow to highlight the line Angle :
  3. Press F2 key to select the TAB Radian.
  4. Once you do that all values (input of trigonometric functions and polar graph functions OR output of inverse trigonometric functions) are in radians.
If your function is periodic (and all trigonometric functions are) set the window dimensions Xmin
= negative (2 or 3)P and Xmax) = (2 or 3) PI. Adjust if necessary to a smaller domain.
