I have a U-Line 75WC. It wasn't running--I jumped the thermostat and it started. I changed the thermostat, it started running then in 5 minutes went off. I jumped the thermostat again and it started running. I can't imagine the new thermostat is bad too. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hello, The U-Line OEM part # is 2767-S it should be available at your local applaince parts store or online at; apdepot.com searspatsdirect.com repairclinic.com apwagner.com appliancepartscenter.com
No pictures, the new one goes in the same as the old one comes out. You have 2 screws on the bottom of the evaporator that holds the sensor in place. Then the sensor runs thru the bottom toward the back.As you remove the old one jus put the new one in the same way.
If the sensor of the thermostat is not on the evaporator plate then yes the thermostat will never be satisfied. Because it is not reading air temp only the evaporator plates temp. should be clamped onto the bottom of plate.
If this model has a mechanical thermostat then that is your problem. If its digital then it could be something else. Posible just by unplugging the unit could reset the board.
If nothing runs but the light is on then change the thermostat. #2767-1 and you can find a part from a distributor. To find one visit www.u-line.com and under customer service you will see parts locator
feel the motor and see if warm. if so and not cooling then that is where problem is. more likely is the thermostat. (ignore earth wire to stat). this can be 2 or 3 wire usually. short together and see if compressor starts up. if so thermostat is at fault.
