How to connect zing ear tp-05 touch lamp switch

Hunter fan usually requires 3 speed pull chain switch which can be found here:

Hi,

I found out that mostly they are connected with fastons. You can get them at hardware or auto parts stores.
From what I've heard Zing Ear switches are a bear when it comes to taking apart or taking off wires.

I have the same issue. I bought a ZING EAR dimmer but it won't fit in the space allowed by the pole the lamp is made from.

The switch is simple, the positions are: Off/On/Half.

The switch uses a diode to provide half voltage to the lamp. I have two solutions and I'm not sure which I'll use yet. First, I can use the dimmer but I'll have to get a 500K pot with a switch to fit in the hole. I'll attach wires to connect to the PCB of the dimmer. In essence, I'll remote mount the 500K pot.

The second solution is to get a rotary switch like this:

and use the diode salvaged from the original lamp switch. In my switch the diode is still good.

In the base of the lamp, cut the 2 wires coming in from the wall.

On one wire from the wall, connect it to the same wire going to the lamp (white wire, if you can tell which is which), AND the white wire from the Zing Ear (3 wires connected together).

For the other wire from the wall, connect it to the BLACK wire from the Zing Ear.

For the remaining wire to the lamp, connect it to the RED wire from the Zing Ear.

You also need to fasten the "TOUCH" wire from the zing ear to the frame of the lamp -- the metal part where you would touch the lamp.

That should do it.

Did you try Home Depot, Lowes, or any lighting supply store. It's a pretty common item, so they should all stock it

It's actually a very easy repair. Those pull chain switches are very generic and can be found at home depot or any hardware store for about $3. As far as changing the switch there are only 2 wires to connect and there is no incorrect combination to reconnect them.
