How do you reset 1100 & 2100 remote (6 button)? Astro Start.

Vehicle has been sitting for 1 and a half years and remote batteries were weak. Replaced batteries but none of the remote functions are working. Audible and light features activate but none of the functions work. Thought resetting might correct but cannot remember how to reset and cannot find it in the user or installation manuals.

I assume you have fixed this by now, but if not, call panasonic's help line (number is in your owner's manual). They will walk you through the complete reset process (maybe 5 minutes). you will have to re-program everything the same as you did when it first came out of the box, but that doesn't take too long. Also, first try taking the batteries out of the remote. Make sure they are still good. Wait 60 seconds or longer, then replace batteries.

SOURCE: prestige aps-57 remote start...car won't start

Hello hope this can help you. First check the starter wire, it is tan/lt blue located at the ignition harness. usualy during installation of the remote start system this wire is cut leaving you with two ends. one wire is coming from the ignition switch the other is going to the starter. the brain of the alarm hooks into both of these wires. if the repair man cut the wires from the brain and spliced them together he has just put the system back to OEM status leaving the alarm no way to engage the starter. I believe that may be where the problem lies but if not then I would say check your immobilizer bypass module the repair man mave have diconected that.

Thank you,
Luis

SOURCE: REMOTE STARTER NOT WORKING COMPLETELY

Here is page 2 of the owners manual, Hope it helps.

This will not start the vehicle if any one of the following situations exists;
The vehicle's hood lid is opened.
The gear shift selector is not in Park.
The brake pedal is depressed.
The safety control switch is in the Off position.

1. To start the vehicle, press and release the transmitter button two times within 2
seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5,10,15,20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by your installation center.

2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position (not the spring loaded start position), then step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter. The
vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's own power.
NOTE: The engine will stop running before the pre-programmed run cycle has expired if you perform any one of the following functions;
-Press and the button on the keychain transmitter two times within 2 seconds.
-Depress the brake pedal.
-Open the vehicle's hood
-Place the unit in the safety control disabled mode.
PRLED SAFETY CONTROL SWITCH

The Push-Button LED control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of the system. This recommended whenever the vehicle is being serviced. To place the system in the service mode:

1) With the system disarmed/unlocked, and the ignition switch off Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED begins to flash two short flashes followed by one long flashes and continues this pattern until returned to normal mode of operation. This puts the unit into the R/S Override mode indicating that the remote start is in the service mode and will not start from RF or any other input Posse or otherwise.
To Exit R/S Override Mode
1) With the system disarmed, Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED turns off indicating that the R/S unit is fully functional one again

Why wont the unlock button work on the Astros start remote for a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer?

Sounds like either the key fob needs to be reprogramed or your remote locking system needs to be reset. Check with the manufacturer or dealer where you bought the car if they have the directions for resetting the system.

I have an astro start remote 4204/5204 in a 2004 GMC Sierra, when trying to start the vehicle, its starts then immediately stops then starts to crank over motor but does not start...

I don't have a solution, but I have a variation of this problem... My remote start will start the vehicle (2004 GMC Yukon) then shut it right back off after less than 1 second. But, ONLY when it's cold. Once the truck warms up, the remote start works fine. The "start fail" code says "Engine over revving"... Which is odd, because the engine idles the same cold or warm - around 1100 to 1400 at start, then down to about 800 after just a few seconds. Par for the course for me - no one has ever seen this problem before. I was told by a friend not to install an aftermarket remote start on a GMC Yukon, as they are nothing but trouble, but I didn't listen.

1999 Chevy Astro van will not start after sitting day of rain

Have the resistance checked on your ignition wires! When it's wet, the wires break down or don't allow enough voltage to get through to the plugs. Therefore the spark is weak & the van won't start. You may have to change them. Good luck!
