WEN 6014: Motor is running, but chain doesn't move. Chain sprocket seems fine, cogs are only slightly worn, sprocket fits perfectly, no wear. Is there an internal clutch or connector? Motor worn out?

There is a clutch behind the metal housing where the chain sprocket at the engine end attaches to the chain . There are wear parts with springs on them that have to be changed. ChainSaw Shed Chain Saw Parts for Wen Wagner Brand Chain Saws Chains Bars... You can get parts here.

Motor runs but chain does not move

Probably the shaft on the sprocket has sheared off.

On my petrol chainsaw the cog that turns the chain is not moveing

The sprocket should be fixed to the outer clutch drum. With the engine off, and the bar and chain off, hold the sprocket with channel lock pliers and turn the outer clutch drum by hand. If the sprocket does not turn, but the drum does, then the clutch must be replaced. (Left hand threads) To keep the engine from turning while trying to remove the clutch internals, stuff starter cord into the upper cylinder head area so that the piston cannot rise above the top of the exhaust port. If you have a saw service shop near you, you might farm out the clutch replacement. It usually requires a special tool to turn the clutch internals. Good luck!

My electric chainsaw used to carve ice, chain stops while motor still spins when cutting ice

Is there some form of tensioner for the chain or do you believe it's the drive sprocket?Gas chainsaws have a bolt you can tighten which takes up the play in the chain. The drive sprocket is either on a key-way or clutch.I would remove the chain and check the drive sprocket. There must be a clutch to allow the motor to free spin until a given RPM would drive the chain. That clutch is suspect. You didn't give any information(make or model of chainsaw)that I could use to search for an answer for you.Try to work on that clutch,re-post if you need more help.

My ryobi chainsaw rcs 2040 keeps stopping but motor is still running, chain not moving!

RYOBI----- with the motor running at high revs the chain stops indicates that the sprocket behind the centrifugal clutch is worn out or the centrifugal clutch itself ,or the clutch shoes are worn out the way to tell is to remove the bar and chain and have alook where the chain was conected to the saw, i think you will see the sprocket is buggered and as that is attatched to the clutch drum that will have to be replaced along with clutch springs and shoes, i think you have been running the chain a bit too loose or not running it at realy high revs ,which is what they are designed to do ,cme back to me if you feel the need

CHAIN SAW QUITS CUTTING AS IT HITS WOOD.

The make, model, and occationally the serial number help us solve your problem.

Does the engine quit running? (Carburator needs adjustment)
Or does it continue running and chain stops? (need clutch refaced or replaced.) (to aggressive a chain for the size of the engine)

I think you replaced parts unnecessarily. Maybe quicker and cheaper to visit your friendly neighborhood chainsaw shop. A good one can repair it even if they do not sell your brand.

Saw will not cut , chain stops turning when chain touches wood

If your saw has a removable sprocket, Check the drive sprocket on the clutch drum. Either the the spline is worn or the drive link on the chain is not properly seated in the sprocket well.
