Finally tracked down buzzing noise .... it is the inse dispenser...it is dispensing or trying to dispense the liquid; befoe i added the rinse agent it didn't make any noise... gonna try letting it run out of rinse agent to see if that results in a more permenent solution.

You need to use dishwasher powder and approx 1 or2 teaspoonsful is enough. Normally there is a dispenser inside of the dropdown door but it wont hurt to literally just chuck it in the bottom of the machine! Choose a shortish program to start with and use the rinse program first. I rinse which on mine is 12 mins then I use economy wash which is 24 mins. Wait until you are using the wash programmer(not the rinse program)before you put the oap in. You can instead use an all in one tablet and again-just "chuck it in".

I couldn't find it either for a long time:
1) Pull out the bottom rack as if you were putting dishes there
2) Look at the bottom of the dishwasher and there will be a white circle (near the upper left side) where you can add the water softener.
I didn't use any for a while and the dishwasher worked great so I'm not sure why you can't run it.
