Make sure you are leaving it open long enough when you first turn it on. Everything in the smoke chamber needs to burn up before you begin. There also may be grease buildup in the bottom of your smoker that is catching on fire. If neither of these two possibilities work, contact Traeger support https://www.traegergrills.com/support

White/blue smoke coming out my 2004 400 dvx exhaust pipes

White smoke would be water. Blue smoke would be oil. Was the engine overheated ? If so probably a blown head gasket. Check oil and water to see how low they are and how milky they are.

There is probably grease in the bottom of the barrel that is catching on fire. You need to clean it out.

Treager smoke auger won't turn

If the auger won't turn because it's jammed, here's details direct from Treager

Elswise, I would check your electrical on the back of your control panel. There should be three sets of two-wire leads: (1) Purple/White=Hot Rod; (2) Orange/White=Induction Fan; and (3) Red/White=Auger. Obviously, check the Red/White leads for voltage and continuity.

I have an older Presto Heat Dish. I have never had any problems with it until now. When I turn on the dish using the temp dial it arcs at the back. I took it apart and the spot where the contacts come...

I am no laser specific on this piece of equipment but any time a set of contacts arc to a degree where they smoke, they are overheating due to resistance being too high. Could be a worn out set of contacts or the current being passed thru them is higher than the contacts are rated for. I am assuming this is an electric heat unit, if so, the element(s) may be having issues.

How do I know what heat to set my hair straightener to? I am worried I will damage my hair.

Buying an iron with variable heat settings is really important as it gives you control.

If you have hair that is fragile, fine or color treated, you should set the heat below 200 degrees otherwise you are risking burning or damaging your hair.

If you have curly, coarser type hair, you can set the heat higher - around 200-300 degrees.

But never go above 400 degrees no matter what you hair type is like.

My Kitchen Aid Supuerba top covection oven will heat to set temp 350-400 then drop over 100 degree's but still read on digital display 350 or 400

how do you know it is dropping 100 degrees ?
If the set temperature is 350-400 the heaters will work untill the thermostat will read that the temperature is reached - after that the heaters will shut down and the temperature will drop...and after few minutes when the temperature goes below thw set point (in this case 350-400) the heaters will turn on again - this will happen for the duration of the timing you have selected (example 45 minutes)
