Reset itslelf. WIll not display correct time, day, or year

Thirteen days ago, my Casio digital Wave Ceptor watch reset itself to January 1, 2005 and I am unable to change it back as I don't have the instructions anymore. It is also not showing the "recieve" signal (aka the little satellite pic on the bottom right corner). I live in Toledo, Ohio. A friend said her atomic watch also was not working. Why can't I get my watch to display the correct time and date? I have a module N0. 3053 and without worning the watch reseted it self to Jan. 01, 2005. When I try to adjust it I receve on the lower segment RC! (what does it mean?). And then I receive ERR. Impossible to make it working again. Any solution please?.

I have had two of these models and they suffer from the same problem. The lower right button accidentally gives a "reset" signal to the watch, probably due to inadequate debounce design. My only advice is thor it away and never buy a Casio watch again. If you still have a warranty, invoke it and get your money back.

I have the same error - don't use the stopwatch!

You can manually reset the time by holding down the 10 o'clock button, use 4 and 6 to adjust each setting, then use the 8 o'clock button to set each value.

If it's night time you'll get reception from the atomic clock in Boulder - hold down the 4 o'clock button until it says "GET." If you see a black ring, the reception is good and the watch will set the correct time. You'll still have to set the time zone, however.

Unfortunately the reset also changes the world location setting. I found I had to change that back to LON (London) before it could automatically correct itself.
By the way, it's not necessarily to do with any buttons being pressed and my watch regularly reset itself overnight when on my bedside chest of drawers. Putting it in a draw overnight solved the problem.
Over time the frequency of the reset gets greater. Mine was resetting almost every day. Now it can even reset whilst in the draw, but very infrequently. I've become quite quick at the manual setting to get a nearly right time and leaving it to pick up a signal to get it exactly correct.

My Casio wave ceptor keep resetting itself like this when the bottom right (D button) is pressed. I need to make sure I reset the city code or before trying to receive as it defaults to Tokyo. Press & hold the top left (A button) and date changes to city code. Scrole through codes using right bottons.
Hope this helps.

My Casio Wave Captor does the same thing, maybe once about every six months. While annoying, it's no big deal and easily fixed.
Here's the link for the Casio user manuals. While the appearance of your watch might be different, the 3723 model has the buttons in the same place as the 58-8 model that I have. Just go to the timekeeping section and see how to set the year, date, and time manually. Once that's done, the watch should correct itself overnight. http://waveceptor.casio.com/support/manual/

Solved! My Casio atomic watch started resetting itself to 1-1-05 and I would buy a new one every couple years! I have 4 of them Now!
I found the problem. As the battery becomes weaker, the radio cant work any more even though the watch seems fine. To see if that is the problem, push the 2pm button in the dark and see if the back light still works correctly? If it does not work, you need a new battery! Then the radio will work properly and problem Solved! I fixed 4 of them so far!

I have two of these watches. The fault occurs entirely randomly - day or night, when I'm wearing them or not, inside or outside. They both recently went for more than a month without misbehaving, then they both reset themselves three times within one morning. Resetting (press button A, etc.) is a chore I could do without. I bought an ACCTIM watch, no problems so far,, but it's big and ugly.

As soon as I had posted the above (June 20), I wrote to Casio's UK Head Office (I had to use a government website to find out their postal address) and related my tale of woe. No reply yet. Next stop, Which?

I also have had this Casio Waveceptor 3053 module resetting to Jan1st. 2005 problem. Casio themselves will not acknowledge that there is a problem & don't want to know despite loads of users reporting exactly the same thing. Mine even used to reset randomly when left on a windowsill overnight to sync. up, even after fitting a new battery. The only thing you can do is throw it in the bin & never buy another, I'm afraid.

The problem is poor design of the buttons. If you press the bottom right button, it sometimes resets instead of doing what it should do.
You can't cure the design fault, but you can avoid accidentally pushing the button while it is on your wrist. My cure it to take a craft knife and trim the button down so that it is nearly flush with the watch case. Do the final touches with an emery board (you can get these for nail care).
Take great care not to trim the wach case or to trim the button too far.
These waches are available very cheap, so the Casio is obviously aware that there is a problem that makes the watch difficult to sell. They continue to deny that there is a problem.

Nothing you can do. Where you work (middle east) there is no time signal radio station for your (radio controlled) wave ceptor watch.

My Casio Wave Ceptor 3054 has started resetting to 12:00, 1/1/05 at random times. Why?

My Wave Ceptor also reset to 01/01/05 four days ago. I've had it for more than a year and this is the first time it's happened. It hasn't reset with automatic updates and I can't get it to manually update.

The digital display shows the correct time but the hands do not.

hi there when you replace batteries in wave ceptors all hands have to be set to the home position (straight up at 12 oclock), as the instructions vary wildly from watch to watch you will have to download the manual from www.casio.co.uk you will need to put in the module number (found on the back plate of the watch), this will be in PDF format, you can download adobe reader for free from www.adobe.com to read PDF files. good luck

Lost the manual. Son reset watch. I've reset the

go to www.casio.co.uk go to support(methinks??) click on watches and put in the model number (the one you posted) and download the PDF manual relating to your watch (you will need adobe reader free download to read PDFs), this will be the full manual, once you figure it out DST will have to be on, as its summertime of course. ( i bought a wave ceptor for a fiver because the guy who had it didnt know how to recalibrate it after a battery change), a quick gander at the online manual put it right, there shouldnt be a problem setting it up again, good luck
