- stops mid cycle - spin cycle is okay - belt looks okay - when close lid during wash cycle, motor seem to engage with excessive noise/buzz - agitation/wash engages, them mid-cycle stops - what would be the cost to replace the motor? I put my clothes in the maytag washer and it began to run fine then all of the sudden it made a noise and the agitator did not turn. Now the agitator does not work. I would like to know whether it is the agitator or transmission. I would appreciate it greatly.
It does sound like a bad motor.
they are rather expensive on that machine,
you would be looking at 300 or so
Since the spin cycle is ok, it obviously isn't the motor, which doesn't cost $300, it's only $125.15 athttp://www.appliancepartspros.com/partse...
More likely it's something broken in the transmission, which is what controls the agitator.http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partse...
