Kenmore Elite Trio Fridge - Getting ER F5 error on display

I have a Kenmore elite trio fridge. I am getting an ER F5 error on the display and a 3 beep every thirty seconds, as if the door(s) is open.

The refrigerator is not cooling, although the freezer is still at something under 32 after 3 days.

I've removed the panel from the back and removed and cleaned the printed circuit board as well as all connectors on it. The are three power leads coming into the bottom of the board, and 3 (what appear to be) control leads leaving the top labeled FAN, Right Door and Display respectively.

When I plug in the fan lead the system runs, although it is hard to tell if the fridge is cooling, when I plug in the right door the system is OK, but when I plug in the display I hear a pop and the system shuts down. Almost sounds as if there is a circuit popping.

I have ordered new boards for the display and the rear main control board. I'm wondering if anyone's had any experience with this, and if so is there something I can do to get the fridge cooling in the meantime.

Thanks

Er-FS error code: Failure of freezer sensor.
I have been finding the fuseable link in the defrost system on these models open preventing the defrost cycle.
This would involve removing the freezer back panel and removing the sensor and fuse from the evaporator.
It's just a plug in.

SOURCE: kenmore elite trio refridgerator with an error

ER FF is "Error Freezer Fan." Once the evaporator fan stops turning for more than 115 seconds, this error message2.gif will be displayed. This fridge2.gif is poorly designed and is not designed with air gaps or enough air gaps to allow air behind the back panel of the freezer2.gif where the fans and condenser coils are located thus causing ice to build up around the fan and it's ability to spin. The evaporator fan helps circulate the cold air generated by the condenser coils.

The fix is (1) defrost your refrigerator2.gif which means you'll loose all your food if you don't have another unit to keep the food in until it's done defrosting or (2) to dismantle the entire freezer by removing all the trays and railing so that you can pull the back panel far enough to get the front end of a hair dryer over the top lip of the panel to melt the ice. My unit had ice build at the top right and left corners behind the panel. I opted for the latter and didn't have to throw any food away.

Good luck

SOURCE: er dh code error on Kenmore elite trio

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

My Kenmore Elite Trio Fridge is leaking water from under the front of the machine. It is not the water connection. Do you know what the problem might be?

Your defrost drain tube is probably clogged with ice or something. Defrost your refrigerator (put towels around to soak up any excess water), then after it's defrosted, take off the back, lower panel and look for a 1 inch diameter tube coming down from your refrigerator. Remove it and clear out any blockages and then re-assemble everything.

Good luck!

Kenmore Elite trio Error 15

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.
Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.

http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wkbwtkdqbqkgrkkxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ktfgsrbbdxktrrwffdr/1/1303472/5961857/image18067img-or.jpg

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.

Error message

Hello gravyblast.
Welcome to Fixya.

You said, your Kenmore Elite Trio, model 795.7756 or 7757 has an error message simply reading ER IF. No pressing of buttons, or combination thereof changes anything. Also, the ice maker has stopped working although it is turned on.
Can anyone help?
I cannot pull the refrigerator out to unplug and reboot it, thus I don't know what to do.

Try tripping the breaker off for 5 minutes and then see if this method resets the system?
Do not turn it back on for at least tree minutes. That's why I said, Five!!!

Lets see how it resets while I look your fridge up.
Write back. Huuum

Kenmore 795.7731 Fridge warm;freezer cold - Error er dH

I faced the same problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold and there is no eR dH error message. Thanks to all who shared on this site.
