Does the hard disc drive on the Toshiba RDXV60KB need de-fragmenting at some point?

On my PC I de-fragment the hard drive on a regular basis so that the free and recorded areas are consolidated. Do I need to do this for the HDD on the Toshiba RDXV60KB?

Ok, this is happening due to the fact that the CODEC FORMAT you recorded in doesn't exist on the player you wish to play it on.. you MUST ensure you encode the DVD in a CODEC that every machine will have... When you Burn a DVD the information is Encoded, with a CODEC, the SAME CODEC is required to Play it back, if the Player doesn't have the particular CODEC as standard, then it simply is unable to play the DVD. Look on the DVD Player and check out what CODECs it can handle, then encode your DVD Burns using that CODEC, and you will be able to play it on any compatible player, Usual formats are MPG4, VOB, DiVx,
have a look below to understand what you need to do.

RUNNING SLOWLY

Hi Anon depending on which operating system you are using there are various things you can do to speed up your PC, if you are using Windows 8 or 8.1 then press and hold down the Windows key and press Q, in the search box that appears type PC settings, click on PC settings and then select Update and Recovery, from the list that appears select Recovery and then choose one of the recovery options, "Refresh your PC without affecting your files" is probably the best choice. If you are not using Windows 8 or 8.1 you might get a simple speed boost by de-fragmenting your hard drive, if you are using a SSD solid state hard drive then it will not be necessary to de-fragment it.
If you are using an earlier version of Windows then the System restore tool can be used to revert your PC to an earlier point in time, when it ran more quickly.

Resetting a computer's hard drive requires running a de-fragment program, which scans the entire hard drive and cleans up files to make it run more efficiently

Will not load games

First of all get a good Antivirus software and scan your PC thoroughly after UPDATING it. Updating the Virus software is extremely important.
Secondly after doing the above step install a Registry cleaning software. I recommend Uniblue Registry booster or Regcure. Virus and unclean registry are number 1 reasons to PC slow down.
Check your hard disk if it is near to full. Use the Windows built in disk cleaning software to clean unnecessary files. After that De-fragmenting the disk will also help a lot. To de-fragment a disk Go to accessories in the start menu and then go to system tools. Find disk de-fragmentation and run it the PC performance will dramatically enhance but Virus and registry cleaning is recommended to be done first.

Good luck!

you must erase some data on the disc if you don't want to lose all because if it goes like this you will get your hard disc crashed and you will lose all important data. run disc fragment and scan disc regularly.if problem persist rather use an external hard disc for quick, safe and easy transfer

Data saved disappears when computer is rebooted

HARDLY SCAN YOUR PC FOR ANY VIRUSES. I RECOMEND AVIRA ANTIVIRUS OR AVAST. THEY WILL IDENTIFY IF THERE IS ANY VIRUS THAT STEALS OR EAT YOUR DATA.

PERHAPS, RUN DISC/HARD DRIVE FRAGMENTATION AND DISK CHECK UP TO SEE IT IS WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE IT DOES SEEM TO HAVE SAVED YOUR DOCUMENTS ONLY TO FIND IT HAS SOME ERRORS ON IT.

SIMPLY RIGHT CLICK YOUR LOCAL DISC ON MY COMPUTER AND FRAGMENT AND RUN DISC CHECK UTILITY.

THANKS,

WONDER

Not much memory left in my powerbook

De-fragmentation does nothing to free up space. It only moves files that have been fragmented across scattered sectors into a file running across contiguous sectors. This speeds up disk read operations and is less stress/wear on the hard drive. To free up space... continue what you're doing. Move all non-essential files to an external drive and uninstall any programs that you don't really need.

If this answers your question and provides a solution to your problem then please take a moment to rate this post. - Thanks.
