You might have used an inappropriate variable name.
For functional graphs y=F(x), the independent variable must be X
For parametric graphs, the independent variable in the x_t and y_t functions must be t.
For polar graphs the independent variable must be Theta, and for sequence graphs, it must be the special wiggly n.
Once you select the type of graph, the independent variable is entered by pressing the key marked X,T, Theta, n.

SOURCE: graphing trig functions

Put the calculator in radian mode and it will graph trig functions just fine. If you don't know how to change it to radians, then go to mode and cursor over to select radians. I am assuming you know where the sine, cosine, tangent, etc. keys are.

SOURCE: when i try to graph a scatter plot on my ti-83

Your stat plots are on, and may not be filled out/ correctly filled out.
go to [Y=] and go up to the stat plots ([Plot 1], [Plot 2], [Plot 3] ) and turn off the ones that are "ON" ( highlighed black w/ white text.) and press [ENTER] on the ones that are on and the problem is no more.

SOURCE: I can't graph on my ti-84 plus silv. edition

More than likely, you've put in a number in the xmin or xmax that is not correct. Example....you put in an xmin of 10 and an xmax of -10 which would be backwards. This could also happen in the ymin or y max.

The easiest way to fix this is to press zoom 6 which wil get you back to the default graph of xmin of -10, xmax of 10 and ymin of -10 and y max of 10.

If you can't see your graph on this screen and need to change the window, just be sure the number in the min for both x & y is smaller than the number in the max. You change your window size by pressing the window button.

Suddenly, the graph window reports ERR:UNDEFINED

Go to Window and make sure there are acceptable values for your graph, default is usually 10 and -10 with 1 scale.
