We keep getting a LE error on our washing machine. If we unpack most of the wet stuff and try a rinse and spin, it will finish around 70% of the time. What kind of troubleshooting can I do before giving up and calling a repair person (an expensive proposition, this close to Christmas) Thank you!
The *dreaded* "LE" error is overwhelmingly caused or triggered by incorrect type detergent **OR** too much *HE* detergent (a special low sudsing detergent).
In all LG washers-when too much detergent has been used-this will cause the "LE" error to be displayed & the wash cycle will be interrupted. Unplugging the washer for more than one minute will cause the MAIN BOARD (computer) to power down and re-boot when the washer has been plugged back in.
On LG washers built *before* 2008-after several "LE" error events-the error *cannot* be reset by unplugging the washer. This indicates that the HALL EFFECT SENSOR has failed and will need to be replaced.
On all LG washers built during and after 2008-a more robust resistor was used in the HALL EFFECT SENSORS-which eliminated damage caused by higher electrical loads placed upon the sensors due to oversudsing. HALL EFFECT SENSORS virtually never fail in 2008 and newer LG washers but the "LE" error will still occur if too much or the wrong type of detergent is used. This will be "resettable" by unplugging/replugging the washer.
The CORRECT amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent to be used is as follows:
HE : (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load
HE 2X : (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X : (1) Teaspoon
USE THESE AMOUNTS RELIGIOUSLY-NO EXCEPTIONS-IN ALL FRONT LOAD WASHERS WITH 3.0 cu ft DRUMS AND LARGER

Thank you. I read another post about trying to un-gunk the sensor with a tub clean on sanitary with white vinegar. I tried that today and IT FLOODED MY GARAGE. :-( I found the washer still with water in the tub, but turned off. No error lights. Not sure where the flooding came from -- maybe an overflow safety?
Thank you - you’ve saved me $100’s !!! I have the WD-1485RD and kept getting the LE warning with a washing machine that froze - drum wouldn’t roll… I did the unplugging, pulled all the wet clothes out, scooped out as much of the water as I could, then did a spin cycle -perfect. Then ran a load of washing with no detergent..I will watch the amount (religiously) of detergent I use from now on…Many thanks…

SOURCE: LG front washer keeps getting "LE" error
Regarding the LE EEROR CODE.... This code is also caused by having a
residue on the sensors in your unit. You have to use a HE liqud
detergent. If you use fabric softner use half of the recommended amount
and dilute if it is concentrated. Once a month (for a family of four)
put 3 cups of white distilled vineager directly into the drum and
select sanitary cycle or the hottest cycle you can. This prevents
residue from forming in your unit and causing the LE ERROR CODE.
The spinning may be a burnt out motor, you may have to get a repairman on that, I can't be sure on that but I hope this helps solve your problem

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

HI, this is a Door Open Error.
Possible Causes are..-
* Door not all the way closed
* Loose electrical connections at door switch and pwb assembly(Control Board)
* Door switch assembly is out of order(Miss aligned)
* Gasket on door may be creased in
Most common issue here will be a defective door lock switch. check all causes before replacing the switch.
SOURCE: 1 1/2 year old lg WM2496H showed oe error code
The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
LG themselves have some information on this error code..
