HP 7410 All-in-One printer will not copy. Says "Warming Up"

HP 7410 All-in-One printer will not copy, scan, or fax. When you try to copy, the LCD display screen shows "Warming Up" and that's as far as it goes. It stays like this until you unplug the power cable. I have done all of the recommended corrective actions ( power down/up, partial reset, full reset, change power source, etc...). Would appear the scanner bulb is not heating, but cannot tell as no light seems to be coming from scanner assembly at any time. How can I check if the scanner bulb is functional ? {NOTE: HP help (in India) just passes it off as a hardware problem and offers to sell you a refurb unit.}
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated as it is a good printer unit when working fully.
Thank you. norris57

It sounds like you've done all the troubleshooting properly. I would contact HP or search their website for other users that have had similar problems. Also might be a good idea to check HP's site for new drivers, they change almost daily :)

SOURCE: OfficeJet 7310 FAX issue

Did anything happen prior to the issue? It almost sounds as if the DC controller (main board) has gone bad. What happens if you try to make a copy on it?

SOURCE: hp psc 2310 is "stuck"

This has been solved in the fixyourownprinter.com forum. Clean the bottom of the scanner glass. You have to take a bit of it apart but it's not hard with the help of this HP site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00553775&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=303753&dlc=en&lang=en

Good luck.

Good morning,am trying to fix a hp officejet pro l7780.It can't scan, copy or send fax.Could someone assist me please?

Does the fax/scanner light come on at all? If not, then that's the problem, because that's the only part that likely needs to warm up.

Your printer should still be under warranty.
Either take it back to the place where you purchased it or call HP. Their number should be in your manual.

HP Office Jet 7410 printer copies, fax are black

If you make a copy and it is black, either the ccd (reader is bad or the lamp is out) either is the end. Take it back to staples if you can.
Make sure you unplug it for about 1 hour and plug back in and try a copy.

HP 7410 all in one-will not copy displaying warming

The display came back on and continues to print ok, but will not copy. Continues to say warming up when you try to copy. I read somewhere that we might have to change some board. We did not wany to put any money into it if we didnt know we could even get it working so we bought a new all in one by Brother. I own 3 HP laptops and the HP printers and have had many problems and their customer service is poor. Thank you for your help and your great site.

Hp 7410 officejet all in one

--close cover ---means the lower base of the printer is open the cover you open when to remove or insert the cartridges.that is not related to copy or scan cover which is above that.just close the lower covwer little bit tightly.apply gentle force or push to make it close properly.
do it carefully.

thanks.
