SOURCE: ERROR CODE E20

Just fixed mine, only I did not have to take it all a part. Just tip it over and reached in thru the opening in the bottom. Took the clamp loose with a phillips screwdriver and pulled the rubber off that contains the filter. Stuck my hand in the opening and pushed up on the filter from the bottom on the rubber container. Out came the filter and I cleaned it and pushed back down inside until it was past the lip that held it in place. Works great, took about 10 mins., not bad for a woman, huh. Thanks for the info, could not have done without your diagram and information.

if you can you will have to dismantle this part in trying to release it

How can I repair a leak from underneath the coin trap of my Dyson Washing Machine?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I can recommend a couple of checks that should help. Firstly, it's important to make sure the coin trap window is correctly rotated into position (one and a half turns clockwise) ensuring the childproof tab clicks into place. Check the plug is also pushed fully back into place: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/cr01/cro1-flowcheck-white/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/check-the-coin-trap-step-1

It's also a good idea to check the seal within the coin trap is correctly in position, and hasn't been damaged in any way.

Unfortunately if the coin trap or surrounding components have been damaged, we've been unable to provide spares or servicing for CR01 or CR02 washing machines since December 2012. If you'd like to discuss this with the Dyson UK Customer Helpline, you're welcome to call us on 0800 298 0298.

Fixing error E20 on the Frigidaire Affinity 7000 Washer

Error code E20 is often not included on the list of error codes for this washing machine. The error E20 means that the coin trap/drainage hose needs cleaned out.
The coin trap is underneath the machine on the right hand side. There is a plate that covers the bottom of the machine, yet it most likely will have an access hole in it.
The coin trap is usually black and a somewhat accordian shaped looking hose.
To begin UNPLUG the machine .
Then use old towels to soak up excess water that is still inside the drum.
Next if the washer sets ontop a pedestal drawer seperate them by unscewing the screws in the back and under the front of the machine.
Now tip the machine onto its back making sure that it is safe and will not fall while you are working on it.
Look at the bottom of the machine and you will see an access hole.
looking through that hole with a flashlight you will see to the right a black hose with a slight accordian look to it.
At the top of that hose is a screw .This screw is connected to a wire type cable which goes around the hose, and that is what when tightened keeps the hose from coming loose from the drum.
Loosen the screw and pull the coin trap hose away from the drum enough to squeeze your hand into the hose.
Now clean out the hose as far as you can reach into it.
Take your time and get as much gunk out as you can.Unless you desire to redo these steps in a month or so!
When done place the hose back where it was and retighten the screw cable combo.Make sure it is tight and in the correct place;if not the machine will leak water onto the floor while in use.
After this then you may set the machine back up correctly and reattach the washer to the pedestal.
Take preventive measures and all ways check pockets before washing items!

Clean the trap

AFFINITY COIN TRAP

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion piece. This is the coin trap.

4. Clean the drum out with as much water as possible and have towels ready. The next step you will have the remaining water come out.

5. At the top of the coin trap where it is attached to the drum is a silver spring with a silver screw. Loosen the screw and wiggle the coin trap down from the drum.

6. Reach inside the coin trap and clean what is inside of it out.

I have a Kenmore Elite washer, model 44092. The machine won't spin and the error code is E20. What is wrong with it?

The machine, based on the error code, is made by Frigidaire for Kenmore. Error code E20 pertains to a slow or no drain problem which can be due to a clogged/kinked drain hose, blocked drain filter/coin trap, or a broken drain pump. The link below provides the detailed troubleshooting procedure of this error code.

Of course, if your washer is setting on top a drawer/pedestal then you will need to take out the screws that connect the two and then you can lay the washer down on its back onto the pedestal

E20 message I get on my washer machine

Below is for Whirlpool/Kenmore, u might find it helpful. Some machines have a small trap door on left front bottom, coin trap.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean.
