My HP4100 keeps jamming under the toner cartridge. I have a repairman look at it 2 times and he cannot figure it out. Does anyone know what would be causing the jam. It seems to happen mostly on short paper.

1) Check all the paper jam locations (see "Clearing paper jams" in your printer manual). A piece of paper might be stuck somewhere in the printer. Even a small torn piece of paper in the printer path can cause repeated jams.
2) If you are using a duplexer, check all the areas (including under the duplexer).
3) Check that the paper is correctly loaded in the tray - that all paper tray adjustments have been made, and that the trays are not overfilled. Make sure the paper is under the front and back tabs. (See the section on "loading paper" from your printer manual.)
4) Check that all trays and paper handling accessories are completely
inserted into the printer. (If a tray is opened during a print job, this might cause a paper jam.)
5) Check that all covers and doors are closed. (If a cover or door is opened during a print job, this might cause a paper jam.)
6) Try printing to a different output bin or tray
7) The sheets might be sticking together. Try bending the stack to separate each sheet.
8) If you are printing from tray 1, try reducing the size of the stack.
If printing from the envelope feeder, make sure it is loaded correctly,
9) If you are printing small sizes, feed paper short edge first (see
the "Guidelines for printing custom-size paper" in your printer manual).
10) Turn over the stack of paper in the tray. Also try rotating the paper 180 degrees.
11) Check the characteristics of the media you are using. Use only paper that meets HP specifications (see the "Paper Specifications" in your user manual).
12) Try using different paper to see if the problem goes away. Do not use curled, deformed, damaged, or irregular paper.
13) Check that the environmental conditions for the printer are met (see the "Environmental Specifications" in your printer's user guide).
14) Avoid using paper that has already been used in a printer or copier.
15) Check that the power supplied to the printer is steady and meets printer specifications (refer to the "Electrical Specifications" in your printer's users guide).
16) Clean the printer and rollers (refer to the "Cleaning the Printer" section of your printer's user's guide).
17) Perform preventative printer maintenance if maintenance is due (refer to the "Performing Preventative Maintenance" section of your printer's user's guide).

SOURCE: Dell 1600 paper jam 1 or no cartridge

Your unit is actually manufactured by Samsung. Most probably you have a bad paper sensor. As a technician, you will find these sensors on the power supply board (SMPS)or main board. If your are receiving tech support from Dell, please illustrate those guys on how to do their job.

SOURCE: HP 4200 printer paper jam. No paper is jammed

check this out....when the printer reports the jam, open the paper tray very carefully and slowly.

Has the paper moved at all forward? Has it moved like 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch out of the tray?

If so, you probabaly need a torque limiter, no tools, $10 or so and a very very easy fix.

POBCM is very correct when he points out that the block/stop in the back of the tray moves when the tray is closed with too much force and this is the #1 cause most of the time.

You may see a "41.3" code displayed if the block is not up to the back of the paper and the paper is not all the way forward in the trays, and under the two metal clips at the front of the tray.

SOURCE: pper jams

The printer hardware should even this out when printing. You should also ensure the paper meets the automatic feeder requirements of the printer.
If printing is skewed, feeding multiple pages or jamming, please follow these instructions (use a regular letter size paper to test after doing the steps given below):
Please check to ensure there is nothing obstructing the paper feed mechanism down inside the printer where it is not easily seen. If there is nothing obvious, unplug the printer and remove the paper. Open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a conveyor belt with rubber teeth on it, like a fan belt. Take the bottom part of that belt and move it gently to the left. The cartridges should come out with it. Make sure the cartridges can move fully from one side of the printer to the other. Check also the output rollers on the bottom of the printer for any blockage. If it is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. Turn the printer off. Next take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the paper feed slot (The manual paper feed slot is preferred, but the automatic feed will do if there is no manual paper feed for this printer) until it comes completely through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. Move it up and down and slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate this may work it loose or you may have to feed the envelope through the front rollers and push your way backward (please be careful here).
Next, take a damp warm cloth and clean the rubber rollers in the automatic sheet feeder. Dust may be coating the rollers there and as they become less tacky, they cannot feed paper correctly.
Finally, turn the printer upside down and carefully shake it for 10 to 20 seconds to see if something falls out of the paper feed path. Then plug the printer back up, take your paper out and replace it with a fresh, small stack (about 5 pages) of paper. Quickly bend the stack in an 'S' shape a few times to separate pages. Make sure it is lined up on the right side of the paper feed and the paper guide on the left is snug on the left side of the paper. Then try to form feed again. If that works, then try to print again.

I have a piece of paper stuck in the top of my hp 1012 printer and I cannot get at the area where the paper is.

Follow these steps to remove jammed paper from the printer

.
1.Open the print cartridge door, and then remove the print cartridge.
NOTE:  Opening the print cartridge door and removing the print cartridge relieves tension on the product rollers, which prevents damage to the product and makes the removal of jammed pages easier.

CAUTION:  To prevent damage to the print cartridge, cover it with a sheet of paper to minimize exposure to direct light.

2.With both hands, grasp the paper where it is most visible, including the middle, and then carefully pull the paper straight out of the product.

I have a paper jam i cannot find on a kyrocea fs-1300d any suggestions how to find and correct this problem?

Hi

1. Paper jammed can be found in the paper tray. Just remove all the paper and inspect paper jammed from the feeder roller.

2. Paper jammed can be found in the toner cartridge compartment. Remove the toner cartridge and inspect for paper jammed.

3. Paper jammed can also be found in the rear door of the printer (back door of the print). Check if there is a back door and inspect for a paper jammed into the roller.

4. Paper jammed can be found in the toner cartridge itself. Check for teared paper inside the toner cartridge.

Does anyone know how to reset the toner levels in an HL3040, i have put new colour toners in and each is still showing empty

Hey, I've just figured this out myself. Here is the procedure:
1. Open the front cover that gives you access to the toners. 2. Press and hold "Secure Print" and "Cancel" at the same time. You will see "K-TNR-STD" display on the screen. 3. Using the "+" and "-" buttons select the toner you want to reset. 4. Press the "Ok" button. 5. It will display "Ok?" and hit the "Ok" button again to reset the toner. 6. Close the lid.
All done!

I have replaced the toner cartridge but now it keeps saying "no print cartridge", I have taken it out and back in several times, turned it on and off several times but still says no print cartridge...

I just had a customer with this problem. Turns out they had a paper jam. 1 piece of paper from the paper tray was about 1/3 of the way up the paper path (had some ink on it). But it was stuck. They should have had a paper jam error but instead had a "no cartridge installed" error. Go figure.

PAPER JAM ERROR MESSAGE keep showing!!

Make sure that all rollers in the paper tray is working properly. If not, then this might be the reason why your having this issue. Try calling your manufacturer to have it replaced, if it's still under warranty.

How to clean HP4100 TN laser printer? I am getting black streaks down side of page. . .ink is smeared.

There are 3 things to be checked. 1: toner cartridge, try replacing it with a new on. 2: Transfer roller w/c underneath the toner cartridgelying on the printer. Removed toner cartridge, you see a roller w/c is foam like outlook, wipe it with clean dry lint free cloth or paper towel. 3: Fuser unit w/c fuse the ink on the paper. It is lacoted at the back of the machine.Remove the bottom rear cover, just by pulling it. Then you will see 2 blue color lever on left & right, turn those levers up to unlock the fuser unit, then pull out the unit. taking a look in the inner part of the unit you will see rollers . Any bad coating or damage on the roller will create smears on the prints.

Ricoh AC 104 copier

If the paper jam occured behind the toner cartridge, did someone pull it out and leave a piece behind the toner? Look to see if there is a small piece of paper jamed in the connector of the toner / developing unit. Also look for any small piece of paper in the paper path.
