I have the same problem and eventually in desparation I took the cover off to see if I could spot anything. I turned the lens inside and things appeared to click into place. Problem is that I think I have now disconnected the power switch at the top. I think that camera is now a bin job unless anyone can give advice about what I might have done wrong.

    Camera beeps three times

  • desilew Sep 26, 2008

Whenever I put in my batteries, the power only last for about 2-3 minutes. It beeps me and says "low battery", but the indicator on the camera reads the battery life as full. I brought new batteries and a charger, so I know it's not the batteries.

Same problem - lens had got stuck & screen wasn't working. So recharged batteries, put them back in & had the start up beep & sometimes the 3 beeps. Nothing obviously out of alignment with lens but gave it a wiggle & it retracted next time I tried turning it on, but still wouldn't go. Plugged in my phone adapter & it worked. Turns out must have been the lens, plus the rechargeable batteries had got too old & lost charge. Hope this helps someone.

Sometimes pulling a little harder is needed don't be afraid to do it, and you may have to pop it once or twice..

Had this problem on a Samsung D85. When I took the back cover off I noticed that the metal frame of the LCD was at a slightly different voltage to the negative battery connection. Less than 0.1volts so I was doubtful that it was anything important. Anyway I soldered a wire between the minus battery connection and the nearest bit of the LCD frame. Problem was solved.

The above advise about gently pulling and twisting the lens worked perfectly.  Thank you so much!

I just had the same problem and figured out what it was with my camera.  One of my kids had got it and turned it on and then dropped it.  The lens looked as if it was fine, but when I took a closer look I realized that it had been stuck on one side.  I grasped the lens on each side and gently pulled while twisting and it popped back into place.  I then turned it back on and off again and the problem was solved.

Solution worked great!! I was just about to give up & buy a new camera. I LOOKED at my lens that was extended & it WAS tilted just a little. I gently pulled it & it popped into place. THANKS!! I really like this camera because it's simple to use-so hated to have to get a new one!!

Same problem here. I observed the smaller piece of the telescoping lens looking tilted. Grabbed it and pulled it gently away from the camera body. It popped out a little, seated itself level and retracted itself. Good as new! Thanks for the tip.

okay.... Try this if lens is stuck out... look at the side profile of the lens... you should notice the it is not even.. the lens is probably stuck at a slight angle.. GENTLY force the lens to where it looks even... should fix the problem.... worked for me.

SOURCE: samsung s630 camera

Finallly sent it in for repair - two times! First time, it took several weeks before I got it back. When it arrived it still would not work, so it had to be sent in again. Then they tell me I broke the camera myself so if they are to send it back (unrepaired) I would have to pay them $50. At this time, paying shipping costs back and forth I figured it wouldnt be cost effective. All together it cost me a total of $200 for 15 pictures taken with the first battery set, which after it would do nothing but beep three times. Some people mention the cause being that they dropped it, but I never did, it was like that straight out of the box.

Samsung Digimax S800 camera won't turn on. Beeps three times.

This explains the 3 beeps. also says you can get it repaired which is by far the best option. The behaviour is very typical of low battery state. Try a set of Lithium batteries.

Three beeps when i try to turn it on

i had the same problem a while back. I fooled around with my camera lens a bit and it turned out that one side of the lens was sticking out a bit. I pressed down on this and pushed the power button and it worked. The next time I turned it on the same thing happened but if you keep doing the same thing it should work.

Hope this helps!

Why is the camera beeping?

I had t he three beep problem and also the lens was open. I tried batteries - then i noticed the lens was slightly bent - i tried straightening and it snapped and went into place. then i tried turning it on and it was fine and when i turned it off the lens closed.

Maybe your lens is bent.

It wont turn on, And the zoom is extended.

I had exactly the same problem. Lens stayed open, when powered on you get three beeps and nothing. I found when I pulled the lens out a little harder it gave a little click. When I powered on it worked perfectly.

It dont turn on

I had the same problem. Try to turn it on, 3 beeps and then it would shut down. Screen would come on for that time. Also, the lens was stuck open. It wouldn't close.

I twisted the lens (gently) and it appeared stuck. A gentle screw motioned seemed to free it. I hit the power button and it come on, but this time no 3 beeps and shut down. I then turned it off and this time the lens retracted and closed.

So, it appears that if the lens gets stuck open, it has a shut down feature that doesn't allow the camera to go further into its operation modes. I believe this stuck open problem occured on our camera when the batteries went low.

Again, a second of gentle twisting seemed to unstick it and with fresh batteries in, it was able to operate and shut down properly.

As far as batteries, I use the rechargeable Ni-Cad 2500 mA. They last a while.

Blessings to you!

The lens doesnt close and when i turn the camera on it bips three times and the screan shuts off. the lens wont close.

The batteries need to be changed. The digital batteries sold at the stores die out too fast. I had this same problem. In result, I purchased rechargeable battieries.
