Kodak EasyShare CX7525. I cannot get my new 512mg SD card to format. Have followed instructions to format, but after I hit continue when it says formatting will delete everything on memory card, it then says "Read only memory card change to internal memory to capture." What does this mean and what can I do now?

The white piece of plastic was up at the top. I slid it down and tried it again and now it says "Memory Card is Protected" (reset switch on memory card.) Ok... On the opposite side of the SD card from the switch, is there a tiny "Notch" cut out? if there is, place a piece of tape, masking, electrical, something non-transparent. Be carefull to place the tape over the notch, but not over the brass connector on the opposite side. Ok... Joe, I really appreciate all your help. I put a small piece of electrical tape over the notch. I made sure it was stuck on well, then placed it into camera. I was able to take pictures. Funny, it didn't even ask me to format it. When I tried to remove card from camera it was very hard to get out because of the tape. I finally got it out but the tape came off in the camera. I was able to get the tape out carefully with some tweezers, as it wasn't down in there to far.Why did filling that notch make it work? Is there anything else I can use to fill the notch that won't come off and won't interfere when putting card into computer to transfer pictures? Joe, I really appreciate all your help. It's just another form of write protection, usually used on cards that are purchased pre-loaded with software or music. Anything non transparent that will cover the notch will work. Electrical tape is kinda thick, something thinner like masking tape might work better. You could also use scotch tape and black it out with a sharpie. I tried scotch tape with blacked it out with Sharpie. It worked at first. But, some pictures transferred to computer, some didn't. Then it wouldn't work. Sometimes it will flash like it has taken a picture, but there are no images to display. I tried turning if off, taking out card and putting it back in and sometimes it will take pa pictures, but when i click to review images it says 'Unrecognized file format". Sometimes after I take the card out and put it back in I am back to the original problem. It will take pictures fine without an SD card.
