Turning the Machine On

Turning the Programme Selector to your chosen programme will turn the machine on. The Programme Selector must be returned to the OFF position between each wash cycle in order to reset the controls. I find this an interesting requirement. Don't know if this is merely to clear all of previous program selections for a new(different) cycle or a software engineers cure-all for irreconcilable states. If OFF always before ON works, its the latter.

Suggest you always select OFF at end of cycle and see if problem goes away.

I have a similar problem,
Have to slap the door to get it to start. I’ve changed the interlock but still the same... any suggestions? Could it be the door rather than interlock?

SOURCE: problem with the machine.

once you have checked the door is shut properly, then i would start with the door interlock, DO NOT test by bypassing this can cause serious damage to the timer, replace if needed and work with safety unplug from power supply before removing any item taking note in detail of any wires etc

SOURCE: "Test" displays no washing done!

Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel", "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Washer will not start

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

My Hoover 750 washing machine does not spin any more. What would cause that and can I fix it with a new part?

Hello.

The answer to your question is YES.

And below is the instruction on how to solve the problem.

The Hoover750 is a washing machine that offers many standard features and a few additional options, including energy saving cycles, variable spin and water pressure options and pre-wash, extra rinse and timer features. Available online and in select appliance, department or home retail stores, the Hoover washing machine should function well with basic maintenance and care. However, if individuals experience problems with the machine, some troubleshooting steps may be beneficial in locating the source of the issue and a potential resolution.

1. Ensure the Hoover washing machine is firmly connected to a grounded power supply if the machine is not working. Reset the circuit breaker if necessary.

2 Turn the main power switch to "On" and open and close the washer door firmly if the electrical outlet has power but the washer is not functioning. The washer will not operate if not turned on or if the door is open.

3 Verify the water inlet hoses are connected firmly and are turned on if there is no water flowing to the washing machine. Straighten out any kinks in the hoses and remove possible obstructions from the inlet screen.

4 Straighten the drain hose if the water is not draining from the unit. Remove any possible blockages from the drain hose. Tighten the hose if necessary.

5 Avoid selecting a "No Spin" option if the washer is not spinning water out of the drum. Choose a new spin cycle and press "Start" to remove water from the drum.

6 Verify that all four feet are touching the ground evenly if the washing machine is rocking or vibrating during use. Adjust as needed.

Thanks.
