What to do if the ducks are call shy?

Let them approach your set silently. Don't hail are greet them at all. After they swing over the decoys and start to leave give them the absolute best hen greeting you can. Let them work back on their own after that and see what happens.

I have a Signature Series duck call and I have noticed that the call sticks sometimes when I blow into it, is there a way to fix this?

When you finish calling at a flock, pull the insert out of the barrel and blow a sharp burst of air under the reed. This will clear the majority of saliva from under the reed.

Would you call a Teal the same way you would call a Mallard?

The mallard is the most common duck in the wild so most species will respond some to mallard calling. Your best bet is to mix in some peeps and whistles with your mallard calling.
