Is the receiver in dual mode? Go to the receiver, open the door, and hit the mode key. If both TVs are still showing the same thing, then the issue is not the mode.

Go to TV 2 (the one without the receiver) and make sure the TV is tuned to channel 60 or 73. If it is still showing the same thing, go to TV1 (the one with the receiver) and hit Menu, system setup, Installation, modulation (menu 6-1-5). make sure the modulation for tv2 matches which channel you put your tv2 on.

Still showing the same thing? check the back of the receiver, the RCA cables (red/white/yellow) are plugged into the TV1 ports not the TV2 ports.

Showing different things but the remote still changes channels on both tvs? Go to TV1, hit menu twice, near the bottom there are two boxes each with a number. This is the address for each remote (tv1 and tv2). On the TV2 remote hold sat until it stays lit, choose a number different than on the screen, touch pound (#), the sat light blinks three times, hit record, the number on the screen should change to match the one you typed in.

Still being silly? Call a priest, you have a poltergeist!

You will need to by a universal remote in most circumstances as the Dish remote may not cycle through the inputs on your tv. You can try the recovery button on the remote it will have a small R on it. Press it many times to se if it it set to cycle through the inputs. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: Can you buy a universal remote for TV 2 to change the

The remote is an Ultra High Frequency remote and most universals are IR MAKING THEM INCOMPATIBLE.

Take the TV2 remote into the TV1 location and using the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU. You will now have a screen up that has remote addresses at the bottom. Take the TV2 REMOTE AND PRESS AND HOLD the SAT button on the upper left of the remote until all lights on top illuminate and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1-16 that is not either number on the screen currently and press the pound sign. The SAT button will flash three times now press the record button until the remote addy for tv2 changes to the new number.

You can cancel out of all of these screens with the TV1 remote. Now go to TV2 see if it works. If not try at the receiver. If it works there have Dish send you a new remote.

Thanks for using Fix Ya.

With the TV2 remote working for both TVs, you will want to make sure the TV1 input on the receiver is connected to the TV cable (RCA or Coax cable) and TV2 input is connected to TV2 port on the back of the receiver. I will provide you our link explaining in more detail about connections. If you have any further questions I will provide you my e-mail; [email protected]. Do i need to program my remote to change channels on the dish network

Hey knapshak, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. It would need to be programmed to the receiver in order to change programming. You can do that by following the steps below.

1. Access System Information screen from your main TV.
2. Note the number on the bottom of screen next to Remote Address.
3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top light up then release.
4. While SAT is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press # (Different from number listed)
5. Press record 3 times and the number should change, try the remote and see if you can change channels.

We have two tvs connected to 1 main thing...2 diffrent remotes for each tv....but now as we change a channel on one tv, the other one changes channels to when not touching the remote.....Please help

Hey there! My name is Becki Barned, and I am with Dish Network customer service. What you have going on here, if it has not already been resolved, is that the remotes are interfering with each other, or you are getting interference with a nearby remote, such as a neighbor's remote. Here are some simple steps to reprogram your remote! http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-control and also, make sure that your main receiver box is in dual mode (it should have 3 lights- yellow/green/blue.) Hope this helps! Happy troubleshooting!!!!

Have a722 reciver uhf remote will not change channels onlly have picture from tv 1

kristinjacqu,

Your 722 receiver may be in single mode. This is the case usually when you have the same picture on both TVs and the remote won't function. On the receiver when it's in single mode, you will have a green light for TV 1 and an amber light for mode under the single box.

To put in dual mode, open the door on the right side of the receiver (the door will open to the right). Once open, in the upper left corner of that area you have a mode button (to the right of the power button). Press the mode button and the amber light will now illuminate under the 2 boxes. The blue light for TV 2 should also illuminate indicating the receiver is now in dual mode. This will separate the 2 TVs and you can now watch different channels on both TVS, plus the remotes will now work. I hope this helps.

Remote for box 1 is changing channels for remote 2 and remote 2 does not work

lieslmc

Are you getting the same picture on both TVs - TV 1 and TV 2? Depending on the receiver model, you have a mode button either on the front of the receiver or behind a door on the right side of the receiver. You also should have a green (TV 1), amber (mode), and blue (TV 2) lights on the receiver. If TV 2 is one, the blue light should be lit. The amber light should be lit under the dual mode. Press and release the mode button on the receiver to put the receiver in dual mode. The blue light (TV 2) should illuminate now and this will give you independent operation between the two TVs. I hope this helps.

After programming my NEW Harmony One Logitech remote I can't get it to change channels on the Dish HDTV DVR along with a bunch of other problems.

To control a Dish Network PVR/Satellite, it needs to be set to respond to the default Remote Address (1).

To reset your Dish Network PVR/Satellite to the default Remote Address:

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address.
2. Using the original Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT.
3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button
4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1.
6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen.
7. Your Harmony remote should now control your Dish Network PVR/Satellite box

NOTE: Dish Network PVR/Satellite receivers sometimes have two tuners, allowing them to be used in more than one room on different TVs. Harmony remotes can only control a Dish Network receiver's main tuner while still in the same room with direct line of sight to the device.
