Electrolux FGX831FS1 dryer drum, only spins one way manually

Dryer broke after a clunk noise and now drum will not spin although belt is in tact. Motor seems to be trying but no movement. Will spin counter clockwise manually but won't go clockwise. Help... I suspect maybe the drum rollers..because the drum sags a bit... but i can't find anything online about them for this model.

Check inside the drum to make sure the three screws in a triangle in the rear center are all there, if they fall out the drum goes off center and the motor can no longer drive it.
This model has no rollers, the front of the drum has plastic glides mounted on the front of the drum that ride on teflon impregnated pads that are glued around the door.
The rear is supported by a steel ball screwed to the rear of the drum (the 3 screws that I think are causing your troubles) that rides in a plastic saddle screwed to the rear of the machine.
If the excess drum movement is only up and down you should replace the front glide system.
Good Luck
Quentin

Got clothes out my dryer and turned the drum clockwise to get a lint. Heard a loud clunk noise and now it wont spin. Please help

check for a broken drive belt for the drum
the clunk may have been from the belt as it broke and hit the cabinet

My kenmore 87872800 dryer wont spin. everything else is working but drum wont spin.

Left the top of the dryer top, check to see if the belt isn't broke or loose, if that is in tact try turning the drum by hand to see if it turns easily. if not, the bearing in the back of the drum needs replaced. this is easy to replace, remove the drum by removing the dryer top and then remove the belt, and the drum slides up out of the machine. replace the bearing then reassemble dryer.

My dryer stop working, it made a big noise and is not spining anymore, ts sounds as if it is out of place or something, and after 3 minutes it starts smelling like burn My dryer is a Maytag...

TRY SPINNING THE DRUM BY HAND. IF IT SPINS EASY, YOU HAVE A BELT BROKEN.
MOST LIKELY THE BANG WAS WHEN THE BELT BROKE. YOU NEED TO PULL THE DRYER OUT, OPEN IT UP AND REPLACE THE BELT. A SERVICE APPLIANCE REPAIR WILL NEED TO BE CALLED. - - SORRY

LG DLG2526W it just started to make a weird noise unitl it wouldnt spin anymore. unplugged it but still wont spin

The belt for the drum has a tensioner to keep the belt snug while running. The tensioner has a roller that incorporates a bearing to make it run smoothly. When the bearing goes bad the roller binds receiving a flat spot on it so when it turns it makes the belt snap very quickly making the belt to slap the drum everytime. It does make a lot of noise I know for I heard a lot of them with this problem. No since it does not turn the belt has finally broke so you need a tensioner roller and a belt which are sold together by most manufacturers

The dryer does not spin, the motor runs but the drum doesn't spin

The dryer either spins because of belts/ropes or because the motor directly contacts the dryer drum. I would tip the dryer so I could inspect the drum drive mechanism(s). Make sure you don't have a belt that broke or slipped or that a drive wheel locked up.

Maytag model LA- 510 washer. Not spinning fast enough, Clothes come out too wet and water sometimes left in bottom of drum. Belts were changed. No help. Also, machine makes a large ''clunk'' sound at end...

the cluncking sound is not a brake system since there are no brakes, but the stabilizer of the drum. as when it stops turning the whole weight of the drum 'hangs' on the stabilizers. That might also be the problem with not spinning fast enough, although I think that its not spinning fast enough because there's too much water inside. I would check the drain hose and drain filter, either one of these two are clogged up, and therefor not letting the water out.
hope you'll find the problem soon.
friendly greetings............Gilbert.
