It sounds like your even-tempered iron is in a bad temper! I can think of no reason that you couldn't pull the plug from the wall socket.
There is no iron of that model name, so I am puzzled by whole thing in your 'Anonymous' post.
Disconnect the power at the breaker. Cut the wire with side cutters and throw the iron in the bin. Remove the wall socket from the wall and replace with a new one and throw that in the bin as well. Buy a new Rowenta next time.
Have you contacted Iron Mike yet. Most small a/c motors only go in one direction. Need more info. Was it was working correctly, then changed? Or did you buy it used this way? If the machine is NOT turned off in the correct position, then restarted quickly, it will run backwards and jam up the chain. You may need a new motor. email me if needed, Steve Manookian Pitching machine repair, Los Angeles area, [email protected]

well, most likely. the heating element may have burned out. if you want to get a good iron, then go to a second hand store like good will, and find an older GE iron. those things are the best Irons that my family has ever used.
If you are using tap water then the hardness of the water could cause the problem. You can usually fix this buy running vinegar water through the iron once or twice like you would a coffee pot.
If you have been using distilled water then you probably need to replace the iron.
Hi,
The thermostats gone.
try using it on very cool temprature setting.
See if it lasts longer.
Not worth the trouble of replacing a thermostat.
I,d buy a new Iron.
