If you are using HDMI output could be a bad or cheap cable.
I had same problem, tried another HDMI cable and all OK.

Hello, If there is a complete darkness on the screen, it is likely that the problem is on the card that responsible for providing backlight to the screen. Known as invertor. Sometimes the causes are: 1 loose contacts across the card. 2 the main ic that is number begins with OZ .3 More rarely missing of the 24V voltage that provided to the invertor, in this case you should check the power supply. There is probably a firmware update on the LG website that should take care of this.Go to the downloads area and enter the model number for available updates.
