Here is the quick start guide

You seem to be using the Video & Audio connection. Start at the Player. Connect cables to YELLOW Video, RED Right Audio WHITE Left Audio Then go to TV and find the YELLOW input RED input and WHITE input. On some TV's they are separate, some combine them with the COMPONENT inputs (Component is 5 cables you will use 3 of them if you only have COMPONENT inputs)
Some TV's have an input button on the remote but no on screen selection. Try pressing the input repeatedly to access the other inputs. Lastly you will not get upscaling if you are using the 3 cable hook-up. To get upscaling use an HDMI cable to connect. Be sure to not have both types of cables plugged in at the same time HDMI by itself is best. If you reply with the modelof the sanyo TV I'll try to get you more info.

I've had this trouble too. Not sure how to fix it, but I've found a work-around:
Remove DVD.
Insert Audio CD.
Wait for audio to play.
Remove audio CD.
Reinsert DVD.
Sound should work again.
If you power off the unit, you may have to try this procedure again.

You might want to reset to factory defaults, but there is an error in the manual. In order to reset to factory defaults, turn on (with no disc inside), DO NOT OPEN THE DISC TRAY, just press the stop button on the player for 5 seconds.
SOURCE: I have a Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 and put it in progressive scan
turn on dvd player, leave disc tray close, press and hold in the stop button for five seconds, the dvd player will restore to factory settings and you will see the welcoming screen again, happy viewing watching your favourite dvds

I solved same problem by replacing capacitors on the power supply board.
It is very easy to get his board out -- make sure the unit is unplugged first and sits for about an hour to drain any caps that do have a charge!!
The cost of all the caps on this board is about $3 from Allied Electronics, plus shipping, which would likely be more than $3. Radio Shack might have them.
The obvious offender in my case was the 2200uF 10V cap which was bulging at the top, a sure sign of a failed cap.
If you don't have experience or ability with a soldering iron or have a friend who does, you could try a repair shop, but they would charge $$$ to fix something worth only$ in the first place.
But when this thing works, it's a good unit.
Good luck.

It should be the same way you changed it to PAL. GO back into the setup menu and to the exact same spot you went before to switch it to PAL. If you are unable to for some reason please reply and let me know why...
You can try unplugging the power from the device for a good 5 minutes, then plugging it back in, this will sometimes reset the settings, but you should not need to do this.
Also, the black bars on top and bottom have nothing to do with PAL or NTSC, those are just widescreen versus full screen movies. Whatever the DVD you are playing is must be widescreen or it would not display those bars on top and bottom. Most all DVDs now-a-days are widescreen, the preferred format for most people. You will need to buy FULLSCREEN DVDs to get it to be full screen.
Please let me know what you find, just reply to my answer here.
THanks
