Try to unplug it from the electrical grid and to clean it inside the place where the bread goes, maybe there's a piece of bread stuck in there.

Try cleaning and scraping out any debris in the toaster. Mine had several places where I had to scrape it out with a screw driver. Make sure you do it outside and unplugged. The debris was actually keepeing the carrier from going down.
I had to take my toaster outside and clean out the sidees of each slot. There was debris baked on and it had the wire frame stuck. Once I cleaned, scraped and emptied out the junk, the toaster works fine.
the toaster side is stuck and you will have to unplug it and it should pop back . If it doesnt then you will just pull it up with a tool to get it from sticking .
