My TI84 plus silver edition is stuck with a 0 and the blinking cursor. I tried cleaning out the I/O and every other inch of it with compressed air, as well as clearing the RAM, and the old remove batteries then hold ON before replacing them trick. Nothing is working... I also went to see if my OS was corrupted but my cp couldn't see my calculator anymore... Any suggestions? (besides get a new one which I'm debating)

That means that you know your calc crashed. This can be caused by taking out the batteries durring running time, happened just randomly. Well nothing to fear just press clear and it should go away but if it stays on that screen you have problems and is best to try some of these methods. Take out all the bateries and press and hold the on button for 30 seconds. Put the batteries back in and it should have reset. Warning you should archive everything incase this happens. To archive go to 2nd mem and hit enter to put a astrick next to the app (meaning archived)

Thats because the OS is corrupt. Follow the manual and reload the OS, try the 2.43 OS

SOURCE: ti-83 plus silver edition. calc won't turn on.

Hello,
Well, if screen shows the RAM CLEARED message, that means your calculator is working. Just press the [CLEAR] key, message will be erased and you are ready to crunch numbers.

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: RAM CLEARED?

Hello,
The most likely reason is that the backup battery is drained. Change the backup battery. When you get the Ram Cleared message, just press [CLEAR] to erase the message and start using the calculator.
Hope it helps.

Installing

Try to find a classmate who has the same calculator (TI84 Plus or TI84 Plus Silver Edition) and effect a transfer of the OS from the classmate's calculator using an IO cable.
Alternatively, download the new version of TI Connect (version 4.) and install it on your computer. Then connect your calculator to the computer through the USB cable. When it recognizes the calculator click the update button in TI Connect interface and select update OS. Good luck.

How can i find the % in the ti84 plus

Sorry, but that feature is not implemented on the TI84 family of calculators. No key or command will instruct the calculator to perform such a calculation.
You may deplore such a shortcoming, but please, do not hold me responsible for it.

My screen is frozen and the cursor wont blink and when it does work it is really really slow......I have reset it twice..also new batteries and i have even replaced the back up battery....I dont know what...

This happens if some foreign object is inserted /stuck in the IO port (the round one) especially if the foreign object is a piece of lead (in fact graphite) from a pencil.
To solve the problem, the foreign object must be retrieved or blown out of the IO port. Blow on it or use compressed air.

Ti84 Plus Turns on, and turns off right away.

I had the same problem like yours. First, I reset the RAM and then it no longer turned off right away; but it responded extremely slowly. Second, I tried to install the new OS for it, but unsuccessful until I blowed really hard several times into the round connector. After that, the cursor started blinking. Finally, I downloaded the new OS into it and hoped that the problem never happen again.
You go to http://education.ti.com and follow their procedures to reset the RAM.
