Major shaking during spin cycle

2008 MAYTAG NEPTUNE FRONT LOADING WASHER. THIS WASHER IS SHAKING MY HOUSE APART. YES THE WASHER IS LEVEL AND SITTING ON TILE FLOOR. PLEASE HELP

  • jstewar7 Apr 27, 2009

I have the same problem and have had the repair men here 3 times this week. After killing my back for months shoving the machine back or holding it. They have suggested new shocks or a deal on a new washer.
My washer is on a tile floor the same floor it started on new four years ago, yes it shakes more with more clothing in it , but this was an expensive machine made to hold big loads.
I have also noted that if you do not leave the door open you get a nice musty smell. This was my first Maytag appliance-glad to say my last!!

I have the exact same washing machine with the same problem. It is a poor design and Maytag knows it. We should be entitled to a refund. This was a very expensive machine.

Hi..Chances are you are over loading the machine when
you put the clothes in. When the spin cycle starts the
clothes are not evenly distributed around the drum and
the centrifugal forrce is making the vibration. Enough
vibration and the whole machine can start to move.
check it out..
thank u..

Front loaders are prone to vibration problems. Don't want to go into the technical details of why, but it's important that they're placed on very solid surface (preferably concrete or tile), and checked that their feet have been adjusted so that the machine is level. Unfortunately, most people don't have a concrete pad for their washer. One simple option to consider is to provide dampening of the vibrations. This can be done very simply as this one fellow demonstrates. The main thing to keep in mind with this solution is that it is merely trying to dampen the vibrations. Don't be too forceful in your own solution (think lightly touching the top of a vibrating tuning fork with your finger to stop the tone).

Why is Maytag Centennial 3.2 cu. ft. SuperSize Capacity Plus Top Load Washer shaking during spin cycle

check to make sure it is sitting level on the floor and one leg adjuster hasnt backed in making it shake. But even when you stick cloths in evenly they can bunch up during cycles.

The washer shakes violently then the off balance sensor trips when a load is in the washer.

I had this washer at one point in time. was not very happy with it, even though i sold it to alot of my customers. usually if the machine is shaking violently it means one of a couple things. first make sure your washer is properly leveled. if it is make sure you washing the same types of clothes in the load, no mixed loads of towels with shirts. if your problem is not that then you possibly have a bad clutch. which will cause the tumbling wheels to spin during your spin cycle as well, its a costly fix so i would consider a new front loading maytag/whirpool if that is your problem. remember this machine was designed by maytag, since then they were purchased by whirlpool and everything is on a whirlpool platform now. if you do purchase a new washer and have the matching dryer to your neptune TL, it would recommended to replace the dryer as well, considering the capacity of these machines are smaller then most of the new high efficiency machines on the market today.

Our new Bravos washer shakes excessively during the spin cycle, is this normal for this model?

No, not normal. Bravos don't even vibrate much. First, make sure the machine is sitting level. If it is level front to back and side to side and still shaking, try this simple test, put your hands on opposing corners (right front, left back) at the same time and try to rock it back and forth and then try it on the other 2 corners (left front, right back). If the machine wobbles at all it would cause this issue. This can be cause by a lose leg or leg mounting issue. If all this checks out you should call for warranty service as it could be something internal and you don't want to let it go for a long time.

Shakes on spin cycle

yes bad struts can cause this problem also if you have it on carpet you would be better off cutting a piece of plywood for it to sit on as it will shake when sitting on carpet most of the time

Very loud noise during spin cycle

Probably a broken strut or support. some call it a shock absorber.

Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

On something like this you will need to remove the washer wrap to inspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Please see the link provided for accessing the inside of the washer. Be sure the shipping pins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

My Maytag Neptune fnt loader Model# MAH8700AWW Ser# 12227145GR

I have the same problem. The technician seems to think it could be the water is not emptying during cycles. It keeps adding water as the cycles continue and therefore over flowing the tube when it spin. He thinks it could be a water level sensor. Not sure at this point.
