Its sound simple enough but you will need to use a bit of force to budge the pin.

you will need
blue tack
punch
pin hammer
pliers.

Roll up the blue tack push onto flat surface , push the barcelet side on into the blue tack wthe arrows pointing downward.
insert the punch into the hole and tap with hammer.
do this until you have removed enough links then push a pin back into the bracelet and tap home withthe hammer.

SOURCE: Remove links from metal watch band

This was on a Seiko Dive watch SKX007. This has the metal links joined with pins, which, you will find, are split/spring down their length.

I used a neoprene mouse mat as a work surface, which was ideal as it allows the pin to move out, whilst supporting the links and stopping any slippage. I also rigged a table lamp close by.

There is an arrow which shows in which direction the pin needs to be pushed to remove it. Look carefully and you see that one end of the pin is slotted a little, the other is plain. Push the plain end in the direction of the arrow firmly... it's a leap of faith.

As a tool, I used a cocktail stick to start with. It required firm pressure and then it suddenly gives. I was able to draw the pin out by hand, but used pin nose pliars in one instance, as some pins offer more resistance than others. In most cases the cocktail stick worked (I got through a few). I then graduated to a thumb tack which was more reliable, but metal to metal, so a bit more worrying.

Sliding the pin back was simple, though take care to get the smaller links the right way up when it is re-threaded. I pushed it home the last few millimeters with the flat side of the pliers, giving a final push with the cocktail stick. Good luck. Simplysimon.

The arrows you are seeing are for sizing the band. I cannot find 26311SS in my data base, but I have a good idea what you need to do. The curved piece is a safty that goes over the clasp. Take something like a round toothpick and with the curved piece going to the right like this: ( put the toothpick under the far lefthand side, in the middle and see if you can pry it up ,( I say use a tooth pick so not to scratch up your watch) it should flip over to the right.Check and see if there are any spring loaded buttons on either side of the clasp, if there is push them in ,and lift to your left If there is no buttons just pry up towards your left. If this dosn't work PLEASE let me know, and I will find the exact watch and we can go from there. Good luck!!

The side under the dial. Better to have the side facing you shorter!

I bought the self adjustable bracelet watch but do not know how to adjust it to make it tighter on the wrist

Self-adjusting bands usually feature easy to remove links that simply snap out. They usually look just like the main clasp or blend in with the band. Simply locate these links and undo the closures to remove or add them.

How do I remove a link to make watchband smaller.

I just got a Citizen Eco-drive watch similar to this one (mine is titanium) for Christmas and took it into the jewelry store today to have it resized. Unfortunately, things didn't go well and it is now on it's way to another jewelers shop for repair. The pins have a short sleeve on them that is supposed to remain inside the links. However when they removed the links, the sleeves came out and they couldn't put them back in. Without the links, the pins do not remain secure in the links. I recommend you take you watch to a jeweler to have it adjusted professionally.

You better prepare a plain cloth to avoid scratch a piece of jewelry screw and ponson pinch ,if you cannot secure a ponson, find a big needle or sharp nail, take your watch put a piece of cloth to protect from scratch, hold your watch firmly that cannot slipt. In the side of links, there is a screw marks, or pinch marks lock,if you see screw marks you should use the screw ,if pinch mark ,use the needle or the nail to punch out the lock and detach it ..Again punch it in so it locks or screw it in.That s all you do patswan...
