Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

I have a Maytag Neptune front load washer that violently shakes and walks during the spin cycle. It is absolutely level, sits on a very solid floor and will do this no matter what size load is washing. We have tried the non-skid pads and it walks right off them. How do I fix this? My maytag neptune front load washer shakes and walks. Please help

I had the same problem with my Maytag Neptune front load washer. I loved this machine. The clothes came great; very clean & bright and spun 'til almost dry. After abt. a year it started to sound like I had it loaded with rocks instead of clothes and shook violently during the spin cycle.I purchased it from a local appliance store who provided excellent service. After sending a technician twice to repair it, it got progressively worse.Maytag replaced the washer with new one. Again, great machine for the first year. One day during the spin cycle we heard a loud bang and the tub of machine filled with smoke. The technician came out and estimated $600-$700 to repair, IF he could figure out what was wrong. I decided to cut my losses and got rid of the maytag front loader and purchased a Speed Queen top loader. I miss the way the clothes come from a front loader so I am seriously considering purchasing a Bosch. (has anyone had any bad experiences with a Bosch front loader?)

my mah6700aww is jumping everywhere too. I decided it needed locks on the leg flanges --called maytag --bought new legs--they are too small--maytag says these fit my model--but they are the wrong size. I am wondering does anyone have this model washer with draw below?--

could this washer have a different model number seeing that the draw holds the leg flanges--thanks --help

On something like this you will need to remove the washer wrap to inspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Please see the link provided for accessing the inside of the washer. Be sure the shipping pins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

SOURCE: Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

I had this problem as well. I called dealer and Maytag. They made an appointment and stood me up several times.
I finally went to place that sells refrigeration equipment and bought an anti-vibration pad. It's a 12" square waffle pad used under large equipment to prevent them from vibrating loose on connected piping. I cut it into 4 pieces and put one under each corner of the dryer. Problem solved, in fact it worked so well that I stacked dryer over washer, placed pads between units and have not had a problem since. I also gained a lot of space in my laundry room as well.

Maytag washing machine walks across floor during spin cycle

Did you set the back feet before leveling? On most units to set and lock the back feet you need to pull the top towards you so that the back is raised off the floor, then set it down again, this will release the feet and lock then down. The you level the two front feet. After this is done you must make sure your load is balanced. Distribute the items as evenly as you can in the tub. Once it gets to the spin cycle if its walking or shaking a lot, stop it and redistribute the items more evenly in the tub. Also try not to overload the unit or combining many heavy items with few light ones. If this is a new machine, did you remove the shipping locks from the back before using it? They have plastic strips attached to them, make sure they have all been removed, as well as any shipping bolts.

The washer shakes violently then the off balance sensor trips when a load is in the washer.

I had this washer at one point in time. was not very happy with it, even though i sold it to alot of my customers. usually if the machine is shaking violently it means one of a couple things. first make sure your washer is properly leveled. if it is make sure you washing the same types of clothes in the load, no mixed loads of towels with shirts. if your problem is not that then you possibly have a bad clutch. which will cause the tumbling wheels to spin during your spin cycle as well, its a costly fix so i would consider a new front loading maytag/whirpool if that is your problem. remember this machine was designed by maytag, since then they were purchased by whirlpool and everything is on a whirlpool platform now. if you do purchase a new washer and have the matching dryer to your neptune TL, it would recommended to replace the dryer as well, considering the capacity of these machines are smaller then most of the new high efficiency machines on the market today.

Our Maytag washer rocks violently during the spin cycle. It shakes the whole house and seems to be getting worse. We put shock absorber rubber mats under it but it just rocks off them.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

you must have a broken balance spring/shock on your machine...

I suggest you contact a service company

Hi,
When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

Check out this tip I wrote about that...

Shakes violently during spin cycle from back to

I had this problem with my front loader as well. It is probably the mounts or "level shocks" on the bottom of the unit under the tub. I have a Kenmore by Frigidaire and had to replace the "level shocks". I only paid about $43.00 and was not that hard to put on. Look under your machine and see if the shocks are connected to the tub. Check under the top panel also to see if that particular model has mounts up there too.

MAYTAG NEPTUNE FRONT LOAD WASHER MAH5500BWW

Central bearing and seal are damaged. Very expensive repair and very expensive parts. Maytag does not sell bearings separately, they're only available with the outer tub, which is $400-$500; Repair itself is another 2-3 hours of hard work. Do the math...

Maytag Neptune MAH6500

Sounds like some sort of broken support or spirng underneath. Flip it over and look. Expect a little water to run out though.
