SOURCE: I have a 2000 Triumph TT 600. It has a leak at the

I don't know why but Triumph does not list the grommet as an individually replacable part which is annoying!
But there is no reason why they/should not be able to seal this with a silicone based product.
If it has been attempted & failed, the reason is undoubtedly that the oil was not cleaned sufficiently from the cover and/or grommet before applying.
So you should thoroughly degrease these before attempting to retry.

Good Luck!

Water is leaking into the floor board on the drivers side everytime it rains. The drain lines have been cleared, but it still leaks.

get some clear silicone sealant in a squeeze tube at wal-mart. gently pry the rubber around the windshield away from the body and put a long bead of the silicone down into in the groove. start on top in the middle and go completely around. do not use a screwdriver or other metal tool to pry the rubber or you will scratch the paint. if you see detritus in the groove, brush it out with an old toothbrush and a hand vacuum before you put the sealant in. do not go overboard with the sealant, trim the excess off after it sets up.

if that does not work you are going to have to pull the panel which covers the wiper assembly and find and fix the leak in that well.

dealing with a problem like this is a clue as to why you should never, ever get a car with a sun or moon roof. they only leak always and forever.

Jaguar s type-Boot leaks

Is the seal damaged - if so replace it as this is the best solution, if not see below -

This is a common problem caused by the rubber seal. Remove the seal and then put a small bead of silicon rubber sealant all the way around the metal lip it fits on - then replace the seal. Next when the sealant has set, clean the boot lid where the seal makes contact and also the seal itself with a silicon spray polish (Mr Sheen) this should cure the problem if the water is entering via this seal. Also make sure that the gully around the boot lid is clean. If this cures the problem, every few weeks clean and treat the seal and lid with silicon spray.

Hope this helps - good luck.

Our aquarium had a leak...so we had to strip all of the old silicon out and replace it with new. However I was unaware that some silicone can be harmful to fish. the ingriedients that were the the silicon...

The silicone most be 100% silicone appropriate for aquarium use. If the sealant tube did not say this on the tube it is not safe for use in aquariums. They sell this type at pet stores that sell fish. Also make sure you use acetone to clean surface before applying sealant.

My Linkasink is leaking at the bottom edges.

You need to seal from the outside edge and I would use a clear silicone made for use in wet conditions. It wouldn't hurt to put a bead around the bottom edge as well.
