These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.

Over voltage protection function is turned ON. Just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 10 minutes or so and check. If it do not help you, the main power regulator board should be checked and replaced. You can try unplugging it for a while and then plugging it back in, but according to the manual, the standby LED:
Lights up red when your TV is in PC power saving mode. If the LED blinks in red continuously, this may indicate the TV needs servicing.

The red light should be blinking a code. For example it will blink 4 times pause then 4 times pause or 5times pause 5 times pause, whatever the error might be. Let me know what it is and then we can help more.
