I am getting a e17 error code on my Bosch Front dishwaster as well.

e 17 is an error from flow sensor it means its taking longer than four minutes to fill up you need water pressure checking.

Got an E17 Error today on a Bosch 6450 Series washer (the user manual says Bosch Vision 300/500/DLX series). Here's what I did to fix the problem.
- Tilted the unit back, propped up the front with some 2x4 (lying flat; that's all the room I had).
- removed 3 screws (Torx 20 I think) under the front lip. Then slid the cover (below the washer opening) down. This revealed the pump to empty the washer, a manual door lock opening pull rod, and a drain line (?)
- Looking through some holes in the front panel I saw some water on the bottom of the washer... but I spent a lot of time with the pump cleaning it out first (some zipper pull got in there and made a lot of plastic shavings). - Ultimately I got my hand the bottom of the washer and soaked up the water that I could find. That's when I realized
- there is a micro switch mechanism at the bottom near the front. This must be the "AquaStop". The mechanism contains a bit of styrofoam that floats up on any little amount of water that collects under it and triggers the microswitch. So, I removed that unit, wiped the water up... put it all back together. No more E:17 error.
Still don't know how the water got there in the first place though.

Just tto add an update: the water I had collecting in the bottom of the washer (triggering the micro switch; causing the E17 error) was due to faulty water flow valve. The first one to go was the cold, but I have now replaced both the cold and hot water flow values. Not impressed...

Thanks a lot. That saved my day. Happened when cleaning the filter. Very little water that created the problem.

Thank you so much for your detailed info. I really appreciate you!

Just a followup to my original answer: the root of problem was a leaky cold water valve. A year after replacing the cold valve, the hot valve went bad too. Since then the door lock solenoid latch has gone... all in less than 4 years, running on avg. 3-4 loads a week. Meanwhile - we bought a used Bosch Axxis washer/dryer (for a rental suite) and I'm sure it has many X the "mileage" on it as I had to replace the motor brushes, but other than that not a problem. Makes we wonder how a company can produce great/lousy products at the same time.

Hi shawn833,

F17 Turn the tap on fully, check that the supply hose is not kinked/jammed; clean filter. Also check water pressure is not too low If all these test ok you need to run a load with no clothes with 1 cup of white vinegar this will solve your issue.

I had the same problem after cleaning out the filter. Some water ran into the bottom of the machine and caused the micro switch to trigger... the switch is located in a white round case, which has some styrofoam attached to it which works as a floater switch. cleaned all the water out and voila... machine runs great again!

I have a bosch lifestyle dishwasher that keeps coming up e17...we have had plumbers around and there is no problem with pipes or water so what else can it be

You did not specify the model so I can only assume what means the alarm code E17 - probably water level too high - flow sensor.
The dishwasher has, for some reason detected an overfill and is reporting that through this error code. The flow sensor note is there as that can cause this fault code to be displayed.

I just bought my washer today and it won't finish the first cycle. It is showing "E17" and won't drain. What does "E17" mean and how can i fix my washer. Help!!

When the washer shows error code E17 you need to turn the tap fully on and check that the supply hose is not bent or jammed up, next make sure the filter is clean. Then make sure the water pressure is not too low. After you do all that, run a load with no clothes in the washer and use one cup of white vinegar and the code will dissappear
