Sounds like the washer CPU is defective, have it diagnosed by a local repair technician.

Have to hold the Air Dry button down til your finger hurts. Release button and the light will go off. The "4 second press" in the manual is incorrect!

Disconnect your circuit breaker for 20 minutes and then reset. It should reset your dishwasher.

These dishwashers have a control panel lock feature that allows you to lock the control panel to prevent kids from activating the unit.
To toggle lock/unlock mode, open the door, press and hold the AIR DRY button for 4 seconds.
Please do this before spending any money on the touch panel.

SOURCE: Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Look carefully at your dishwasher keyboard, to see what key is nearest (above or below) the lighted lock symbol. Usually it's the Heated Dry button. Whatever it is, press and hold that key for 5 seconds. That should unlock you dishwasher and you can now use it normally.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher, model 665.15812, "locked" light stays on. Pressing and holding "no heat dry" does not cancel "locked" condition, neither does unplugging unit.

Hello Everyone,

Flashing Lock Button...tried pressing every button in every sort of sequence you can think of? Well try this!

After washing dishes by hand for a few weeks while I tried every solution I could find on the internet, I finally got my Kenmore 665.15812 Dishwasher to work! I found this post: http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/sears-kenmore/10277-kenmore-dishwasher-model-66515632000-flashing-air-dry.html

At the bottom Martee says that he jiggled the ribbon wire that is connected to the board (looks kind of like an IDE cable you'd find in a PC). I took off the inside pannel and the black box protecting the circuits. I jiggled the ribbon wire, and sure enough, I felt a click, shut the door, and everything was back to normal! HURRAY!

Hope this works for you!9_22_2012_4_15_08_pm.jpg

Kenmore dishwasher ultra was quiet guard 3 model 56516012403 control panel will not activate red lights blinking on normal wash and cancel drain. did the hold the heat dry button then the normal wash...

that would be model # 66516012403 correct??
you may have inadvertently set the lock on function..
check this out from your manual...

Lock On
Use the Lock On to prevent unintended use of the dishwasher
between cycles. You can also use the lock feature to prevent
unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle.
When LOCK ON is lit, all buttons are disabled.
NOTE: The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls
are locked. However, the lock must be turned off and the Start/
Resume button pressed to resume the cycle.
To turn on the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. LOCK ON glows.
If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light
flashes 3 times.
NOTE: If the Heated Dry option is selected, the light will
temporarily turn off until Lock On glows.
To turn off the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. The light turns off.

hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

Kenmore ultra wash quiet guard 3 dishwasher problem

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence
