It sounds like marbles rolling on top of the washing machine drum

When I manually rotate the drum at a slow speed it sounds like marbles are rolling around outside of the washing machine drum. I don't think it is a bearing problem because when I spin the drum manually I do not feel or see any resistance. it actually rolls nicely. my wife thinks that my daughters beads were washed and somehow got into the outside of the drum. also when it is on spin cycle and is spinning at high speeds I do not hear the noise. My wife said that she saw beads inside the drum and removed whatever she had access too. my question to you is there an easy way of accessing the outside of the drum without taking the machine apart. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you have a poltergeist. I'm assuming that it's the ghost of Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham. I suggest you get in touch with Neil Peart. He can help talk down this restless spirit.

SOURCE: Clunking during spin

I had the same problem. It turned out that the pump was clogged with coins and the pump was working way to hard to suck the water out with all those coins plugging up the pump causing the clunking sound and vibration during the spin cycles

Check the shocks on the bottom of the drum. I had the same problem and had to replace the shocks because they were broken in half.

My clothes doesn't get agitated in the wash or rinse cycle. I don' t see how it can get my clothes clean this way

Need more info, what kind of washing machine do you have? I am going to assume you have a front load washer. There is no agitater, instead the drum rotates, as the drum rotates the cloths roll up the side of the drum. When they are almost to the top of the drum they fall and the weight of the cloths themselves provides the agitating action. I have been using a front load washer for years, wouldent think of using a top load. Hope this helps..

GE adora front load makes loud rattling sound in spin cycle. nothing in drum. sounds like a ball bearing

its the inner baskets bearings behind this basket as water gets past the rear seal into these bearings and ruins them, you need to dismantle the entire unit to remove the inner basket from the outer tub to replace these bearings

Sounds like worn drum bearing however check the top spring is not snapped.Remove lid you will see if spring is broken if not and suspect bearing its quite an expensive job,do you know Hotpint have a 5 year warranty on parts only call charge is around £105........Worthwhile considering as the parts would cost around this to buy excluding labour...Good luck

WF218ANB noise like a bag of rocks being shaken.

This is a direct result of Samsung's Vibration Reduction Technology(VRT). There is a hoop at the front and the back of the drum holding 18 ball berrings in each hoop (36 in total). These balls use centrifugal force and automatically move to the opposite side of where the load is unbalanced and balances it out. It is only in the washing machines, not dryers.

Sounds like there is a marble or coin in drum

remove the heater which is held by 1 19mm nut in the centre and prize out carefully with a screwdriver. you can then see the gap between the drum and the tub and fish out whatever is in there. a common problem
