I can seem to find out how to use exponential notations. For example if I want to find 4 to the power of 3, which is 4^3. I cant seem to find the ^ symbol anywhere.

Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:Fix] (number between 0 an 9) to select the number of decimal digits you want. Then press [=].

Hello,
Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:Fix] and press a numbetr between (0--9). The number you select will be the number of decimal places your results have.
However if a result is smaller than 0.001 it will be in scientific notation.

Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:FIX]. You are then prompted to enter a number between 0 and 9. The number you enter fixes the number of decimal digits your results will have. If you press 0 all numbers will be rounded. Setting two or three decimal digits should be reasonable for most situations.

The FX-115ES can only handle ten digits. 14! is an eleven-digit number, thus the calculator can only display the first ten digits and a power of ten.
Display Format
To change the exponential display format, press the [MODE] key 3 times.
Fixed number of decimal places:
Press 1: Scientific Notation: 0
Press 2: SCI: 0
Press 3: NORM
You will then be prompted for NORM 1 or NORM 2. CHOOSE NORM 1
To return the calculation mode and setup to the initial defaults, press [SHIFT] [CLR] [2] [=]. This will return the calculator to the following settings: Calculation mode COMP Angle unit Deg Exponential display format Norm 1 Fraction display format a b/c Decimal point character Dot Percentage Calculations
