CASIO fx-9750GIII: Convert decimal answers to complex fractions?

Hi,

to save time, I would suggest switching calculators and also recommend using an online scientific calculator to reach your goal. If the manual for your device is bad, you can look into getting a new calculator. Thank you.

My calculator will show fractions instead of decimals when doing division. How do I change that? There is a N1 displayed in the lower left corner also...I think that may be the problem

Getting Decimal Answers by Disabling WriteViewelw516.gif on the Sharp EL-W516 Calculator

The Sharp EL-W516's WriteView display uses multiple lines to display mathematics as it is seen on a page. Fractions are shown as fractions, exponents as exponents, integrals as integrals, and so on. This makes entering calculations easier, and reduces the chance of errors.

At the same time, calculation results are displayed as fractions (or with roots or pi) whenever possible. Pressing the CHANGE button repeatedly will change these to decimal answers.
If you prefer to always get decimal results you need to disable the WriteView display mode. Doing this will make the calculator display like the Sharp EL-546W when in NORMAL mode. Answers will be given as decimals, but fractions will no longer look like fractions. In general, you will still need to follow the EL-W516 instructions.
Disabling WriteView

Press 2ndF and MATH to enter SET UP. Now press 2 for EDITOR.

There are now two options: 0: W-VIEW, and 1: LINE

Press 1 for Linear display mode to disable the WriteView display, and to get decimals as your answers.

To return to the WriteView display, go through the steps above but press 0 for W-VIEW.

NOTE: It is not possible to have decimals as the default answer form when in WriteView mode.

With the TI-84 Silver calc: what I really meant was - I want to input a set of mixed numbers (or just a regular set of one or more fractions e.g. 3/4 x 5/87) and either add, subtract, divide (or any...

Upgrade the OS of the calculator to the 2.53 MP (Math Print) version. As you can see on the following screen capture of the MODE setting, you can choose to use the CLASSIC option (the old way) or the MathPrint version.
You should notice that the Answers AUTO DEC or FRAC options allow you to configure the calculator to work in DECimal, FRACtions or AUTO (the calculator chooses whats is appropriate).
The n/d is for improper fractions and Un/d for mixed fractions.

Enjoy your new found freedom.

Answers in decimals

The calculator has two Input/Output modes, MthIO and LineIO. In MthIO the results are displayed as fractions or as radicals or a mixture of fractions and radicals. What it means, is that in MthIO the calculator does exact calculations. Radicals in denominators are gotten rid of by rationalization, fractions are reduced to the same denominators before addition or subtraction. Fractions are reduced to simplest form.

In LineIO all results are displayed as decimal numbers.

If a result is exact (fractions and radicals) it can be changed to decimal form by pressing the S To D key, the one above the DEL key.

MthIO is the default IO mode. To set it, press SHIFT MODE and select 1:MthIO. To set LineIO as the IO mode, press SHIFT MODE and select 2:LineIO

Fractions

there is a A b/c button. This is the button use to enter fractions. so 4/3 would be entered as 4 |A b/c| 3

If you want to have the answers in fractions as well, then I believe you hit more a few times. And then there should be a display option, in the display option, there should be a b/c. This will show your answers in fractions. Hope it helps
