Radio in 2003 GMC Yukon isn't working

I recently replaced the battery and the radio has not functioned since. Pushing any button turns the buttons' backlight on for a few seconds. The clock comes on if I push the clock buttons. The radio does not say "locked" or anything to that effect. Also, the speakers do not work, as the "door open/key in ignition" chime and "low fuel" chime does not sound. I have been unable to find any broken fuses.

Even though it doesn't say locked, it probably is. Check your driver's manual to see how to reset it.

SOURCE: 1999 GMC Suburban. no sound from radio

there is a plug at the back of the radio connecting it to the vehicle wiring loom. If you can get at thes plug, either from below or by removing the radio unit, make sure the plug is tight and secure. I can't think that the amp has gone or you would have lost all sound, so this is more than likely the problem.

SOURCE: 2007 gmc yukon denali wont unlock w/ keyfob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works

SOURCE: 2005 gmc sierra, replaced radio

i cannot understand how you radio would work. These radios are coded throught data link to computer. the only way to get the stereo to work is to run a calibration program through the vehicle. then it should accept your new cd player. if the stereo's are the same then may I suggest you to take the radios appart and switch the parts that don't work like CD drive assembly and faceplate.but use your factory installed stereo as the main core, this should fix your isses and work fine since the calibration is for the origional factory stereo.

Lost power in engine, engine light on traction on and radio and gauges dont work , battery keeps draining on a 2003 gmc yukon

If there is no power in your car more than likely it has to do with your car battery being dead try and jump it. Good luck!

Y radio display said

after market stereo i presume?
it sounds to me like the radio itself is defective if the functions are not doing what they are supposed to, pressing BAND on the radio should not switch it to blue tooth or phone, i would unplug the radio until you can get it repaired, taking out the radio fuse will still leave the memory wire hot.

My son was playing and after I turned my radio on in my car it wouldn't produce any sound but everything else is coming on fine .Is there a mute button. Or something its a 2003 Yukon gmc factory...

I had this problem at the shop a few months ago and was able to repair it by just reprogramming the radio.I work at a .m.Dealership.I have also had to replace a radio for this same problem. This programming has to be done at a dealership. It can`t just be done at any repair shop. There is actually a bulletin for this problem.Takes about a half hour.If the programming does not work then the radio will have to be replaced. The new radio will have to be programmed also.It has to be programmed to your vehicle identification number.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Hello, my Vibe 2003 year modle's radio or clook isn't working, a light went out in it and i tried to fix it. I worked on the fuses for awhile but now the whole radio or clook dosnt work, i can turn...

it sounds like either you need to pull radio and reconect outside of vehicle on different power source or replace check for power at fuses first.

2003 Yukon Denali, all radio functions work...just

The built in power amplifier has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can have the radio repaired, which is cheaper then replacing it. It's common for the OEM radio on the GM to go bad as they draw high current and the heat causes the problem. Good luck and keep me posted.
