what is hooter? i guess heater.
blower dead on HIGH is first test. must blow high./
Hi The hooter , if it is at the front radiator area , may have a bad earth contact .Locate the hooter follow the feed back to the entrance to the cab , I think from memory that there is an inline fuse holder . . may be of a strange square construction with a blade fuse . Use a multi meter reader when checking circuitry . ******* are always subject to the elements and poor earthing . I believe the clock and the hooter share the same multiblock connector under the dash and close to the steering tube .
Hello, so the image intensifier tube light up. Shake it and listen for parts raddle around inside. How long have you own this Night Owl? Have you been using night vision on bright lights? If you have the intensifier tube is gone back to the Red Star....it died! The IR operates on a different switch than the controler, ccfl inverter, multiplier, image tube. Sorry. stewbison
There is good bet that I have a tube for this, but it not worth sending to me. Also, maybe it not the image intensifier tube but something else in the electronic.............Made in Russia--Red Star
Hello there. Are you pointing your NV binoculars at bright light, if so, please stop. Therefore, if you are not then possibly the iit (image intensifier tube) is bad, or the auto shut-off is also shorted. Night Owl Optics are in El Paso, TX. Call Night Owl up, they won't tell how to fix it. But they will tell where to send it. "It is proporitary" which mean, they are the one to fix it. Sorry, stewbison.
There could be a number thing wrong with Night Owl NOCX3, broken wires, bad electronic components, inverter not work, image tube has gone kuput! With out trouble shooting this monoculars. I am taking a guess. stewbison
Yes, If you turned the Night Owl on during the daylight hours, or looking directly into bright lights. If you have done this more than few time it could have damaged the image intensifier tube. If this happen to many times, it's finny, kaput, so long, it gone south, and gone bye-bye.
Looking at bright lights is damaging to NV devise. The intensity plate in the image tube, magify the existing light about 3000 to 8000 (radian light from the stars, moon and other light sources). You have 80mm front lens on the Night Owl NOCP5. This mean that more light can inter into image tube.
Sir, have you been looking at bright lights, operate NV system during the day, have you? If not, there could be something else worng with you Night Owl. stewbison
One more thing. DO NOT LOOK THROUGH NV
MONOCULAR DURING THE DAY, OR LOOK AT BRIGHT LIGHTS. This
will destroy the image intensifier tube. Bright lights will make it go south
faster than Speedy Roadrunner. I need parts if the image tube is gone. Night Owl
Optics in El Paso, TX will charge you about $200 plus parts and shipping to
repair it. So, listen no looky at bright lights in the neighbor bedroom window,
hey. GB...stewbison
Hello, your Night Owl NOCC3 monocular needs a new image intensifier tube. It is cost prohibitive to have it fixed. Auction it on eBay as "night Vision Night Owl Parts only" GB...stewbison
Hello, I believe in the same thing. Night Owl Optics have a Russian manufacture that manufactures these monocular and they are cheaply made. The number 1 problem with them is that Russian cheap made image intensifier tube. Just setting on the shelve in the closet and it will destroy itself. Sorry, I could put another cheap Russian tube in but it might destroy it self before I receive this Russian image tube. Sorry Man... GB...stewbison
front lens unscrews to check front of tube but if it is a black mark on screen then it is an internal tube phospher fault and cant be removed this is the case when you have cleaned front of image tube and screen of image and see no visibl marks
