The 'Ink Alert'
or 'Low on Ink'
message displays on the computer or on the product control panel. If the cartridge has been refilled or re manufactured, 'Low on Ink'
or 'Ink Alert' or error messages appears on display panel.Replace with the new genuine cartridge which is showing error on display..
First, remove the cartridges and then replace them correctly. Also check for ink levels.
Sometimes this will correct the problem. If it doesn't, let us know.
Does the copier make good photo copies? Do you see any lights blinking? Is there any error messages displayed on the computer screen? What is the computer operating system?
You could try to remove both ink cartridges.
Closed cover
Reinstall both cartridges again
If still do not clear
Turn off printer
Wait awhile
Turn printer back on
two things to consider.
1. If the blinking is fast (like more than two blinks per second) then
the printer is damaged. Either the main controller board is fried or
the carriage/ink controller is damaged.
2. if the blinking is slow ( 1 blink per second) this means that either
of your cartridges is busted. remove the black cartridge then close the
top cover. If the blinking stops, then the black ink is the culprit. If
not, replace the black then remove the other cartridge. THis means that
one of your cartridge needs to be replaced.
Hello -
Did you perhaps not mean to post under the 1315? I am not sure if you have this printer or another model. The 1315 normally takes a different number ink cartridge.
Meanwhile - gotta tell you that the 1315 is the buggiest printer I ever had. If you purchased it recently and can find your receipt, I'd take it back! Since they've pretty much done away with the 1315, if it was a recent purchase, it was likely a clearance item from some place.
Try taking all the ink cartridges out, uninstall the printer entirely, and reinstall it (the entire printer, not just the cartridges). Blow your printer out with canned air as well - dust, pet hair, people hair, fuzz and general paper fibers can build up more than we think, and cause error messages and other printing problems.
That should help, if it was the 1315 model.
That being said, note that if it still doesn't work, and you have the 1315, save yourself a lot of grief and toss it in the trash and buy another cheap printer! 1315 is Bug City!
check the contacts, make sure they are clean and compare to the old cartridge.
Put old one back in to see if message goes away, if it does then the problem is with the cartridge itself (defective chip or contact).
my psc printer still blinks even though i have changed cartridges
i have the same issue new black cartridge, still a blinking light
