Usually a blinking led points to your power supply! You will probably find some bad caps (capacitors) on the board. They will look bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain). sometimes there is more then 1 thing wrong.

Is your screen black, with no picture or white with no picture?
If it is black screen, it could be your back light inverter!
If white screen, it could be signal board or lcd controller!

If you are somewhat handy you could do it yourself! but it requires taken tv fully apart. There are a lot of screws that should be bagged separate as you go along. To ensure tv can be reassembled. follow these steps or have a expert do it!

    1) remove shell (casing)
    2) remove second layer, this will have your signal boards on it (a/v etc...)
3 the back light inverter has a metal cover over it, with very tiny screws. Also you will see multiple wire plugs going into it. Usually white/pink or white/blue.

If this sounds to confusion I recommend having an expert do this work! Please re-rate my help, as this effect my scoring. If you have found this helpful. Good luck!!

Try ebay or www.shopjimmy.com use your brand and model number for the search. You are probably looking at $50to $125 ish!

  • Anonymous Mar 01, 2009

I would need your model number to answer!

  • Anonymous Mar 01, 2009

www.shopjimmy.com does not list your model! But if you click Philips and then back light inverter, search for one that is compatible with your tv model, or ebay!

TV red light on stand by press remote on blue light shows no picture or sound

Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Won't turn on

Hi! My name is Chris. I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store. I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on. Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ?
Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?

Tv will not turn on when tried on either tv or with remote green light flashes 3or 4 times then turns into red flashing light no picture or sound at all.Have tried changing batteries in the remote and fuse...

Hi.The signal lights red means the primary power of your tv is good and the signal lights green indicate the second power. If the green lights is flashing it means that they have shorted parts in the crt board.Maybe the problem is in the power section of the crt.Need for troubleshoot or repair the crt board.

Hi, We have a 42" hslc10668phz

generally when you get a constant green light all is ok. these different lights indicate different problems within the tv. so the pattern of lights you mention suggests there is a fault of some kind (is there a troubleshooting section in your manual)? either way it needs to be looked at.

Stand by light flashes red on powering up with remote and the green light flashes approx 15 or times before the screen illuminates.

thats pretty normal, it takes a good second or two to warm up and the display to turn on(at least0, you get the green flashes as you hold for on, 1 sec is a long time at times, lol, be patient, no problem with your tv!
