The high idle could be a dirty needle check your carbs i have that problem with my 550 rmk the reverse light could be your wire harness check your wires with any wire tester idk the specs for it but also clean your connections with some electrical wire component cleaner and use so di-electrical grease if all else fails you may need to bring it to a mechanic for a small fix like that it should run up that high

2013 polaris 500 touring snowmobile reverse problems. I believe the idle may be to high.

please add video to your complaint, also polaris shifters have been known to have issues with the linkage. so please inspect the linkage. you could lower your idle a bit but this bike always worked in the past? idle didnt adjust its self? i have always found excessive play in the linkage and i just wasnt pushing far enough back

Start up idle is slow below 1050 rpms and sounds like going to stall while idling. Runs fine otherwise.

no. and you should not need to. Just reassemble and it will be set.

Looses power

You are either Losing Power (Engine) or Primary is Failing.

If you are losing it after it warms up, look at the RPM. If the Engine RPM is staying HIGH, then you have a Primary Clutch Issue.
If you are Losing RPM, then you are losing Compression. Best thing to do is look at the Compression of the Engine and if the Compression is LOWER on one Cylinder (Normally the PTO SIDE) then you are going to be doing a top end rebuild.
There is a slight 3rd scenerio (CDI is going bad).

How can i tell if the oil pump is working// blown piston /550 polaris

Pumps are bad on 2003-2008 550 fans, they get air bubbles with consistant throttle positoins-speed. Contact Polaris they will pay for the parts, not labor.
