Bosch Logixx WFT 2806 Front Load Washer/Dryer Logo

F18 error code on Bosch Exxcel washer/dryer, and water pouring out the bottom - any ideas on how to fix? Filter is clean.

When it first started happening the F18 code also appeared when it was just on spin mode. I have now cleaned the filter and drained the machine (5 times), and have checked the exit pipe. The F18 error has not showed the last two washes, but water continues to pour out the bottom (I have stopped the last two washes after a couple of minutes for this reason). Any ideas?

Note - Not a Logixx machine - it is an Exxcel washer /dryer all in one front loader.

SOURCE: Bosch Clasixx 6 wash machine

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'F18' for Bosch normally indicates a draining problem. As you say the filter is clear, have you been able to check that something is not jamming the drain pump/motor?
So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and general guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If both the filter and pump are definitely clear, it COULD be the control board OR the main motor. Motors will show weaknesses when commanded to spin.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

F18 is time out on drain, check the pump filter for foreign objects (coins etc-behind flap, bottom right of front kickplate) and also check for blockages on outlet hose (especially if connected via spigot, directly to sink U bend)

i reckon you probly had some stuff in yer pockets so don't blame the kids, anyway the filter door is probly jammed up over time with lint and stuff (should be cleaned regularly) so git a screwdriver and prise the door open and clean out all the stuff in there..All good to go again.

Bosch Exxcel did not spin an F18 display

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I do not have the decode for F18 for your particular machine but for similar models F18 indicates a 'pump/drain out time'. I would therefore suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.

What is error code F18 please?

F18 means the filter is blocked. Look around for a propeller shaped part - it should be able to spin freely. If not, remove the debris so that it is unblocked. Good luck!

We have a bosch washing machine and cannot open the filter

If the filter will not unscrew there is an object preventing it from doing so. There are two options to fix this. Firstly try turning the filter one way then the other to try to dis lodge the item. This usually works after a few attempts but if not you will have to remove the large black pipe from the pump and try to remove it from there. There will be some water in this pipe!
Hope this helps.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

Bosch Exxcel tumble dryer error code F:09

Mine did this. Because the bottom left filter was blocked the overheat cut out had tripped. This is inside the rear of the machine accessible after removing the rear panel
