SOURCE: 42LH40 - Problem with sound not being insync with picture

found this floating around online:

1) press and hold the menu button on the side of the TV then press and hold the menu button on the remote until the display says "Enter Password"

2) enter four zeros from the remote control to get past the password screen (you should now see an "IN START" menu with all kinds of information listed)

4) look at the lower left corner where there should be a numbered menu -- menu option 4 should say "System"

5) use the down arrow until the word "System" is highlighted (pressing the number '4' will not take you down the menu) and press the enter key (you should now be on the System menu near the middle of the screen)

6) press the down arrow to option 9 "Lip Sync Adjust" and then press the left arrow to adjust the value to zero (mine was set to 20 from the factory)

7) press the return key to get out of the menu and bingo, you're done!

How do I go from watching a DVD to watch my netflix

Blu-ray players stream the same HD video as other Netflix-ready devices. Netflix streaming video works with several Blu-ray player brands -- including LG, Magnavox, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba and others -- and any Blu-ray device plays Blu-ray discs from Netflix.

We are ttying to "stream" and cannot connect to netflix

Hello.
To stream on Netflix your Netflix account has to be set up to stream.
For Netlix user's your account would be either streaming OR playing DVDs, not both.
If your Netflix is set up to stream, you may need to download Microsoft Silverlight which is free and availble from Microsoft.
Be sure to download the latest version of Silverlight.

You will also need to open Netflix.com and create an account on your computer.

Close netflix and reopen after creating account then login.
Then check your account for streaming or DVD playing.

Depending on why kind of TV you have to watch a movie you will need to connect to the TV with an HDMI cable.

How to i connect my computer speakers to my LG tv?

Hi there,

Fristly, you need to determine if your tv supports 3.5mm PC audio input or RCA PC audio (Red/White) input.

To connect audio from your computer to your tv, you will need a cable with 3.5mm stereo plug on one end (this connects to your computer's headphone socket/speaker output) and either a 3.5mm plug or 2 x RCA (Red/White) plugs - depending on your tv input.

How do I conect external radio/speakers to my lg 42lh40-ua

There are many options here. Most HDTVs today have analog audio and digital audio output jacks. You can use RCA audio cables or a 3.5mm connector, whichever your HDTV has to connect the analog stereo output of the TV to any number of devices such as a stereo/amp which has speakers attached. You could also connect an FM transmitter to the TV and send the audio wirelessly to a nearby FM radio, boombox, portable etc. Most HDTVs today have a digital audio output, typically optical, which uses a digital audio cable ($15) to connect to a surround sound receiver. You can also connect the stereo analog output jack on the TV to a 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver speaker combo to get wireless audio outside, in a swimming pool and so forth, all around the house using wireless speakers. These setups usually cost around $150 or so. Look for the jack on the TV labeled AUDIO OUT and see if it is the white and red 2 jack ports or the smaller 3.5mm single jack port. Adapter cables are available at Radio Shack for around $10 should you need them. So you see the options are almost endless.

Keeps stopping says cannot connect to netflix been having trouble with this

You do need an active internet connection connected to the TV and a NetFlix account to connect to NetFlix.

To setup an NetFlix account, you have to do that from your computer.

Some of the LG broadband TV's that had the same problem required a new main board. This should be a warranty issue and no cost to you for an in home repair.

I suggest you call LG for service on the TV. When you call be sure to tell them you are not with the TV. They will have you on the phone trying to trouble shoot the issue---could take almost 30 minutes. Be sure to have the complete model number (example 42LC2D UA.UASLLJR) and the complete s/r number (example 912KMN003408) before you call LG for service.

LG service number is 800-243-0000.

Good luck and I hope I have helped you.

My LG 42LH40 1080p tv goes off and on while viewing. Anything I can do besides call LG to send out a techician? Thanks!

No, it would be best to call an engineer so that he can check which version of software is currently running in the TV. If you still have sound when the picture cuts off then there could be a problem with the inverter. If the whole thing is swiching off then the problem maybe power supply or main board. These tests would need to be investigated.

I cannot get my Sony SF2000 stereo to play through my LG 42lh40 TV in TV Mode...it works through the Blueray however...i've tried the suggested phone jack to 1/8" headphone adapter but it is not working,...

TRY TO RUN COLORED AV COMPONENT CABLES FROM THE STEREO TO THE TVS HEADSET JACK. IF COMPATIBLE? THIS IS THE STANDARD AUDIO CONNECTION FOR HOME THEATRE SYSTEMS.
