Toshiba Tecra 8000.how do i activate wireless?

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on your wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.

It is compatible however you need to keep in mind that the settings on the router and on the laptop should be the same. You can see the netwrok but you need to enter the right network key. You can access the netwrok key on the wireless settings page of the router.

The netgear router installation will set up the internet connection during install.
Download the Router driver from netgears website and install on the computer/s then your up and running.
it appears you wireless card is seeing the router so just install the drivers and your set.

you should call your costumer support for recovery disk.
it will work.

go to device manager and check under network connections

You can get a bus card that has an ethernet port to hook up via ethernet cable, or a universal wireless card for the bus port or usb port. You can find either of these at Walmart or Bestbuy.

toshiba tecra 8000 does not have built in wireless, you need to install an external wireless adapter (usb or pcmcia), and use the software provided with the wireless adapter to configure it

what are you using a dos floppy ? lol i use a bootable live cd gparted-live-0.3.6-7.iso

1st reset the router and it will go to factory defaults.
button on the back.
no passwords..etc.
is this the only router you have connected to the modem?
if not then set this router for no dhcp.
