Samsung J845 error SE or 5E

Our Samsung J845 Front-loding washing machine has stopped just prior to finishing the cycle with an error that shows 'SE' or '5E'. I know there was a list of possible errors and corrective actions in the User Manual, but I can't find it. Any clues would be great. A copy of the manual would be even greater!
Regards,
Greg

I found the manual! The error is '5E' and, according to the manual, the fix is to clean the filter in the bottom front of the machine. But it took a bit more to fix my machine. Here is what I had to do...

First, use a coin to remove the cover on the bottom right hand corner of the front of the machine. Then you will find two cover or plugs, one big and one small. The small one is the 'emergency drain', the big one is the 'filter'.
Pull on the emergency drain plug and you will find that it is attached to a black rubber hose. Pull this out until it is fully extended, about 15cm. Then twist the plastic plug out of the end of the of the hose. Water should run out of the hose and (eventually) drain the bowl.
If no water comes out then the hose is either kinked or blocked. If the hose is fully extended then it is probably blocked. Twist and remove the big (filter) plug. A small barrel shaped filter is attached to the back of this plug. Lots of water will probably rush out if the drain hose is blocked. Make sure the filter is clean by washing it under running water.
Remove any debris that is in the cavity. When you look into the hole where the filter goes, there is a propellor right at the back, a small hole in the bottom and a larger hole on the left side. Make sure the is no debris in any of these places. Also make sure the propellor spins freely.
I had sand and small gravel filling the small hole in the bottom of my machine. It is nearly impossible to pick this out of the hole. However, this is the hole the goes to the black rubber emergency drain hose. Mine was completely blocked with sand, etc. I scraped what I could out of the top of the hole, but couldn't get much deeper than about 10mm. So I blew (very hard) into the black hose. It took some effort but eventually the sand and stuff burst up out of the hole.
To fully flush the hole and hose, I started the machine on rinse. The water starts to go into the bowl and after a few seconds water comes rushing down the hole in the left side of the filter cavity (and out all over the floor!) this also lets water go down the hole to the drain hose. I blew into the hose again a couple more times and the water bubbled up out of the hole and it flushed out the hose nicely.
The propellor was clear, but I can remember previously removing a hair pin from it, so make sure it is spinning freely and if not look for something stopping it.
Also check the hole on the left side. I found a curtain ring jammed up in there. It took sime getting out. I had to get a wire coat hanger and shape it into a hook that I could feed up the hole a little way. Then I was able to pull the curtain ring out. I could feel the ring with my finger, but couldn't get hold of it. When I got the wire hook on it, I had to pull hard to get it out, but it eventually came and (I don't think) I did any damage to the machine.
Once I had cleared everything out of the filter cavity, I made sure the water all flowed nicely. Then I put it back together and it has been working fine every day since.

I hope this helps others one day. I also have my manual again; if anyone else wants to check it out let me know.

Regards,
Greg

Just did the above directions on my washer also. And to make things easier you can pull out the whole drainagehoses by removing 3 little phillips head screws and a couple of hose clamps. Then pull all hoses off individually and clean out all hoses and assembly a lot easier.

The problem with your machine, assuming you have already cleaned the filter area including around the plastic pump impellor is a worn or dirty motor. Small grains of sand can get in between the magnetic rotor and the housing preventing it from starting. If you can remove this and clean it, it may work for a few weeks ( as mine did ) but it would be better to replace the pump assembly. I got mine for $85-00 from Appliance Parts in Perth .

Samsung front load washing machine 5E Error code

If your Samsung washer is in the middle of a drain cycle and the 5E error code shows on your washers display, it means that the water is not properly draining out of the washer. Something may be clogged, jammed, or blocked and thus preventing water from draining out of the washer.

My top loader washing machine shows SE. Please assist.

Hi!
I has the same 5E mistake with my Samsung washing mashine.
5E looks like SE on the screen, but it is 5E.

This is what the manual says:
5E - Your washer is not draining. It can
also mean that the unit senses a
small clog while draining

Do the following:
1) Turn off the unit and turn it on again.
2) Select only the Spin Cycle.
3) Press the Start/Pause to drain the water.
If it still does not drain, call for service.

My machine is showing se

SE also comes up as 5e
The '5E' Error is displayed when the water is not draining properly from the Washing Machine. If the water does not drain in 15 minutes, a buzzer will sound , and the remaining time indicator will show '5E' Error.
You can perform following steps to resolve the issue :

? Clean the debris filter.

? Make sure the drain hose is not clogged. To make it unclogged, Detach the drain hose from washing machine. Attach the spray nozzle to the end of the hose. Aim the sprayer into the clogged washer hose and spray water kinetically down the hose. Continue spraying until the hose is no longer clogged.

? Make sure the drain hose is not frozen.

? Make sure the drain hose is installed correctly.

I have a Samsung front loader. It has been stopping with the error code 5E (filter problem ) for a few months now. Turning the machine off then on again after 20min gets it going again. The fault always...

Hello,
The 5E error mean:
Pump won’t empty - not draining
As usual with these error codes for not draining the first thing to do is check the pump filter but, on Samsung washing machines, the drain pump itself is often faulty. You can find how to fix this problem on youtube, just text it "Samsung washing machine 5E error".

2. WATER DRAIN ERROR - Display shows 5E.

5E is displayed if the water level frequency detected is 25 KHz or less in the initial phase of the UNB -detecting cycle.

I would suggest a professional comes and takes a look if you don't want to be flooded :)

Getting error 5e WF7708 samsung front loader. Have cleaned all filters nothing appears to be blocked. But it will not finish a cycle.

A 5E code means that the drain pump is iether clogged, with lint, impeller damage, drain hose clogged, or a loose connection on the pump connectors

Machine wont complete cycles and SE showing on display

This is likely a 5E error code and refer to your owners manual for cleaning out the filter coin trap as there is likely debris in it.
