If your agitator is a 2 piece, it has a rachet action and turns free counter clockwise and locks to the bottom piece when turning counter clockwise.
The transmission disengages the agitator when it is in the spin mode. If you put the washer in the spin cycle the agitator should free up.
If the washer is spining ok and the agitator is not turning free you have a transmission problem.

GTWN2800D0WW washer, how do I remove agitator, and does this sound like a worn coupler?

To remove the agitator the top cap is removed and should reveal a nut and assorted locking pins etc. You remove the nut and the agitator lifts off the splined shaft. IF the splines are ok then the issue is in the transmission

Remove dual agitator

The agitator in your Maytag Dependable Care washer uses a back-and-forth motion to move your clothes from the top of the washtub to the bottom and back to the top again. The fins on the side of the agitator help facilitate this movement. When one of the fins sustains damage or the agitator fails to move, you must remove the agitator to make the necessary repairs.Disconnect your Maytag Dependable Care washer from the electrical wall outlet. Turn off the valves supplying water to the appliance.
2 Open the washer's lid to access the agitator. Look for a 1/4-inch hex screw recessed in an opening about three-quarters down the side of the agitator.
3 Insert a 1/4-inch nut driver into the opening in the side of the agitator. Fit the nut driver over the head of the screw. Turn the screw counterclockwise to remove it.Grab the bottom of the agitator with both hands. Pull the agitator from the bottom of the washtub.

The agitator in my 1999 Kenmore Model no 110 29852992 does not work. It does not move. Can you explain why and tell me if there is a part that needs replacing? Thank you

Does it still spin and try to wash? If so try moving your agiatator clockwise a full turn and counterclockwise. If you can without it locking than your dog agits are out. Agitator dogs is also another name for them. Part is number 5. You do not have to go through this site it helps cus it gives you a brakedown and a diagram.

Kitchenaid speed controller (don,t work

You need to adjust the mixer speeds.
Obtain a copy of the KSM150PS Repair Part List from Kitchenaid.com.
Remove the screw holding the End Cover and locate the three screws from the Control Plate.
All three (2 top left and right, and 1 bottom) must be adjusted.

1. Loosen the lock nuts enough & Turn the 2 top screws clockwise until they cannot be turned
anymore. Leave the bottom screw alone for now.
2. Use a dab of white paint or paper whiteout to mark the positions of the Phillips screws.
3. Plug in your mixer and Set the speed selector to "Stir".
4. Turn each top screw One full turn couterclockwise (alternating between Left and Right)
Keep making one full turn at the time (for both left and right) until the motor starts running.
5. Put your hand near the Agitator shaft and allow it to brush your finger slightly. Use your
watch or clock and start counting the number of times the shaft touches your finger in
60 seconds. The correct count should be 60 RPM (Rounds Per Minute). If it is less
or more than 60, give each screw 1/4 turn counterclockwise or clockwise and start counting
again. Now tighten both lock nuts.
6. Set the speed selector to "6" and turn the bottom screw either clockwise or counterclockwise
to achieve a speed of 180 RPM.

For your reference, the planetary RPM's for the 5-qt. tilt-head Artisan Stand Mixer are as follows:
Stir speed - 60
Speed 2 - 95
Speed 4 - 135
Speed 6 - 180
Speed 8 - 225
Speed 10 - 280

How do you lock it?

Hi Celsa,

Please follow the below instructions to unlock and lock depending on the series of sentry fire safe security you have.

H & F Series:

To unlock and open:
1. Insert key in lock and turn counterclockwise.
2. Apply downward pressure on top of the safe, while
pushing the latch in to release.

NOTE: Due to compression of the gasket, the
unit will require slightly more force
than a safe that does not have a gasket.

To close and lock:

1. Close and press down on lid to engage latch.
Safe can now be transported without locking it.
2. Insert key in lock and turn clockwise.

HD & FD Series:

To unlock and open:
1. Insert key in lock and turn clockwise.
2. Pull up from bottom
of latch while pushing
down on lid to release.

NOTE: Due to compression of the gasket, the
unit will require slightly more force
than a safe that does not have a gasket.

To close and lock:
1. Close and while pushing down on the lid, press down on
the latch until it is secure.
2. Insert key in lock and turn counterclockwise.

Carpet setting: the brush drive does not work with the carpet setting. Is there a way to remove the bottom to determine if something is caught in the system?

To determine if you have a clog, first remove the attachment hose like you were going to put an attachment on. With the vacuum in the upright position, turn the vacuum on and place your hand over the hose. Do you feel a strong suction? If not remove the hose attachment by turning the locking ring at the end of the hose on the back of the vacuum counterclockwise, then remove the hose. Stretch the hose to it's fullest length several times. I would do this over some plastic or outside to keep the dust down.
Once you have done this replace the hose turning the locking ring clockwise to lock it in place, give the hose a little tug to make sure it's attached and locked.
Again, with the hose free from the agitator turn the vacuum on and fee for a good suction.
If you still don't have one then you likely have a plugged filter.
You will need to remove the dust bin.44d2af9.jpgOnce the dust bin is removed, over you trash can empty it by pressing the dustbin door release downwards. Now rotate the dustbin lid counterclockwise to remove the primary filter. With the lid removed grasp the filter and turn counterclockwise to remove the filter.
52c5f65.jpg
Pull the filter out over a trash can. Once out inspect it, if it's dirty you should wash the filter in warm water until the water is clear. When finish let the filter air dry for 24 hours before reinserting it.
Upon reinserting the filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, install the filter cover with a clockwise rotation to lock it in place and reinstall the dust bin.
Now plug the vacuum back in and again with the hose removed from the agitator or brush and ready to install an attachment then the vacuum on and you should have a solid suction.
These vacuums are really prone to poor suction if the filter get dirty. Because they have washable filters, you should take time about one a month to clean the filters.
Thanks Dorrian

Direction to untighten agitator bolt

Counterclockwise is the correct direction for loosening the agitator bolt. You have to hold the agitator still in order to accomplish this, though.
