The bow length needs to match your draw length because the bow limb is designed to be used at a particular draw length range. For instance if you use a bow with limbs too long for your draw length, you won't be able to flex the limbs enough to make them efficient.
Generally, the draw weight is the amount of force to pull the bowstring to a certain draw length. The industry standard is measured in pounds at 28 inch draw length.
Draw length is the distance you can pull bowstring from the resting (start) position to the shooting position. This is different for each archer due to physical length of their arms.
