I have a Philips DVDR3380. It worked fine for a year but suddenly stopped working. When I put empty disk into the machine and try to record a program, the machine kept shown a message saying 'unknown disk type'. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Or is this problem solvable? Thanks a lot for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi I have a Philips dvd touch screen HTS7200 the lights on top for volume and play are not working ,the try is not opening ,there s no sound coming out thanks
Do you leave the unit on all day and night on standby?
If this unit gets to hot you can experience this problem I suggest that you turn the power OFF totally until the unit cools down and try again. Normally 15 mins is enough.
i had the same ploblem sometime last year and all i did was to put a cleaning disk(the ones with a cleaning brush on) in it a couple of times...and it works fine since then!
Me too - I've had a DVR3305/05 for just over a year and yesterday after using a lens cleaning disc it refuses to play anything !!! My advise is to stay away from Philips !!!
