An 'HP Product assistant window keeps popping up and will not close down when I try to close it. It's been happening the last three days when I've been printing alot. The second window then pops up stating that I need an installation CD to re-install something!!! What is causing this?
I have the same problem, but I have the C7250 Photosmart Printer Can I use the above steps to rid it of it. I also had Best Buy look at it and they told me they had gotten rid of it at the tune of $200 and it wasn't there. However, I went to open the Solution Center and then it popped up again. I had planned to uninstall and reinstall the printer, but have not done that yet.

I had a similar problem on my desktop Pavilion. This program is just sitting in memory and checking for updates. If your are not worried about getting updates then you can turn it off.
In the RUN box type MSCONFIG and the screen below will appear. Go to the Startup tab and un-check the box for "HPWuSchd2". Click OK to exit. You will need to reboot for this to take effect. (You can always turn it back on if any problems arise).
